Obama visits Western (Wailing) Wall

Drudge (yes I know, but he's fast...) has the following lead:

OBAMA VISITS WESTERN WALL IN OLD CITY
JERUSALEM... ARRIVES AT 5:08 AM LOCAL TIME [10:08 PM ET]... SUNRISE...
SHOUTING MAN: 'JERUSALEM IS NOT FOR SALE, OBAMA'... MOB SCENE...
CHAOS... BOWING HIS HEAD IN PRAYER... PLACES NOTE IN WALL... POSES FOR
PHOTOS... LOTS OF SHOUTING... LEAVES 5:20 AM... DEVELOPING...

I'm
interested in reader's thoughts on this. I'm a little uneasy with the
"posing for photos." It's considered a holy place by half the world's
population, and some voters might take offense. I've never heard of a
prohibition against photos there, and I'd probably have my picture
taken there if I were to visit, but I'm also not running for POTUS. Of
course, Barack Obama doing anything public is going to be photographed.
Perhaps the issue is with the word "posing." The press is going to take
his picture. I don't think he should hide under his jacket. So that
leaves us with the question: was the visit appropriate given his
position?

Thoughts?

Ok then. He's right in line with protocol. Glad to see the McCain photo especially, so the right wing can't make hay out of it. Not that someone won't.

For some reason, something about seeing these politicians there doesn't sit right with me. I can't really put my finger on it. I'm not even religious.

Wish we could read the note though!

Well, I'm an atheist, and it doesn't exactly sit right with me, either. It's one of those things I just shrug off, though.

NYT not disturbed by the event. A lone heckler ≠ a PR fiasco.

As expected, the U.S. Fascist movement is trying to make an issue out of this:

And yes, I hate these sites too, but I like to keep tabs on the enemy.
