Obama Over McCain by 8 Points! (new WaPo/ABC Poll)

This reinforces the Quinnipiac Poll results currently posted on TPM Election Central (9 point lead)!

Encouraging, but that's for "registered voters". I believe I read that the spread for "likely voters" is a lot closer, something like 3 points.

Have you read through the NYT/CBS poll?
Its spread that includes likely voters is 45 - 39.

But there's the most extraordinary result hidden in there.

Asked whether they would vote for a black President,
91% of whites said yes. That's MORE than the 88% of blacks who said yes.

Go figure...

WHo knows?

There was the usual discrepancy between those whites who said they would vote for a African American but thought none of their friends would. sigh
