McCain Irony Watch: Wars, Campaigns, and McCain
This is a clear choice that the American people have. I had the courage and the judgment to say I would rather lose a political campaign than lose a war. It seems to me that Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign.
-- John McCain, July 22, 2008
The irony here, is that McCain became a POW in Viet Nam in 1967. The next year, Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger conspired with the South Vietnamese government to sabotage the peace talks to WIN AN ELECTION. Peace with North Viet Nam, and freedom for John McCain, were DELAYED for 5 years so that Nixon could WIN AN ELECTION.
