How patriotic is it for any American to blow off a subpoena from the judicial committee?
I think when Karl Rove, or any other American, gives the judicial committee the finger by not showing up after receiving a subpoena, it is without question, anti-American. Clearly, unpatriotic.
As I'm sure you've heard, he's asserting Executive Privilege, which is baseless in Rove's situation. He's basically saying "fuck off America".
In fact, an even louder form of "fuck off America" is not doing what is required by law for anyone asserting executive privilege--showing up to assert executive privilege.
I should mention that Karl Rove offered to speak to members of the committee but only in private, ad if it's off-record and no one is allowed to take notes, or leave with anything that was written, recorded or otherwise chronicled during the meeting.
The only recourse the House judiciary committee can take is to hold him in contempt, arrest him, and hold him in jail.
And if they don't, are they not blowing off their own duties as sworn in members of the House?

For Rove, Bush and their Republican supporters real patriots are suckers to be exploited, politics is their only game.

How gutlessly unpatriotic is it for a democratic congress to permit him to get away with it? Of the two, I'd say the stench from congress stinks to a higher heaven.
