Word Count
After going the entire campaign season without once uttering the word "gay" in public, Hillary managed to say it twice in her concession speech today. Once thanking her supporters, "gay and straight" and once in reference to "gay rights".
And it comes at the end of her campaign, when she has nothing left to lose. I'm sure its a coincidence though.

She talked today about how few Democrats have been elected over the past 40 years, and about how her husband had been one of them. She talked about how difficult this race will be. I noticed that, too. Just as I had noticed that Obama did, in fact, include "gay and straight" in his stump speech throughout the campaign.
So, it's a little late, but still, good for her for including it now.

In a lot of ways, I always felt that the "pandering" Hillary on the primary campaign was not really her "true self".
The irony is that maybe if she had just expressed her genuine feelings and opinions instead of trying to appeal to everyone everywhere, she might have been the Democratic nominee.
