I am a big fan of Gen Clark, but I do not believe that he is what we need. Women split about 55-45 for Democrats. They are our base. Obama needs to pick a woman VP. Sebelius or McCaskill strike me as the best choices.

No. Democrats don't need to "fill" a weak spot. We need someone in the VP slot who has run for office and knows how to campaign. Clark is a decent enough fellow but he should not be on the ticket.
My choice would be Howard Dean. He, like Obama, won't fall for the phony panders similar to the "gas tax" vacation purposed earlier in the campaign. Dean is a smart, tough campaigner and has shown himself to have excellent leadership skills, to wit, the 50-State Strategy.
Imagine a ticket with two candidates who will talk to us like adults. THAT would be progress AND change.

I'd far rather see Clark as Secretary of Defense. With a sane person in charge at State (Biden?), Clark could actually do some house-cleaning at the Pentagon.

My view is that Wes Clark is just kinda stale.

Yuo can't be esertious.
He accused Obama of not being prepared enough to be commander in chief and properly oversee an end to the Iraq war. (BBC)
Plus he's too gaffe prone.
His `one faith based intiative: surpassing the speed of light...`
"Huffington quoted Clark as saying that the idea of bombing Iran before exhausting diplomatic avenues was “outrageous.” According to Huffington, she then asked Clark what made him so sure that the United States is headed in the direction of attacking Iran, and he replied: “You just have to read what’s in the Israeli press. The Jewish community is divided, but there is so much pressure being channeled from the New York money people to the office seekers.”
The phrase “New York money people” struck unpleasant chords with many pro-Israel activists. They interpreted it as referring to the Jewish community, which is known for its significant financial donations to political candidates.
Obama is vulnerable enough with the Jewish vote - the last thing he needs is to add Clark to the ticket.
