Thomas Friedman: Our Readers Are Idiots
Thomas Friedman's column today provides proof that the print media are spiraling towards irrelevance:
... this from a president who has so neutered the Environmental ProtectionRegular TPM readers, of course, could both name and recognize Stephen "Stonewall" Johnson. Yet Friedman is convinced the esteemed readership of the Times would be unable to do so. I guess we're not the Times's target audience any more.
Agency that the head of the E.P.A. today seems to be in a
witness-protection program. I bet there aren’t 12 readers of this
newspaper who could tell you his name or identify him in a police lineup.

The best part is that Friedman himself is the idiot-king! He's speaking to his citizenry.

Actually, aside from the dis of his audience, today's column was actually pretty good. He's right that the oil won't last forever, and a strong president would push for greater use of renewable energy sources.

Yeah, him! So if you read the Times, Friedman thinks there's just 11 more people like you out there.
It's been a while since I've read the dead-tree edition, so I don't count myself, even though I'll occasionally read things on their web site.
