The Filth Has Begun, Courtesy Larry Johnson
Anti-Obama blogger Larry Johnson, bitterly disappointed that his Michelle Obama hoax failed to gain legs, has posted this Rovian attack on his racist No Quarter website:
http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/06/09/rabid-anti-semitism-on-obamas-official-2008-campaign-website/
Does anyone seriously believe Larry wasn't the author of the post he's claiming to be outraged over? Yeah, the gullible morons who visit his website. It's looking like Larry will be the source of much filth as the campaign deteriorates. One wonders why Josh ever allowed this idiot to post on TPM.

I looked, and it's shocking trash. Trouble is, I shouldn't have looked, and shouldn't have given the guy traffic. My guess is that he doesn't get that much, and we shouldn't add to it. I imagine a lot of haters out there have web sites - I hope they don't become the story.

How can this be refuted by the campaign except to say it isn't so? Undoubtedly over and over again.
How difficult is it to prove that it was not on the website? Or that, if it was planted there, that it did not originate from the Obama site?

It's pretty easy to keep this stuff in check. They have mods, and I'm sure they're smart enough to archive their daily backups. I doubt this will get picked up by the media as Larry hopes it will. Larry's an idiot, and he's quickly earning a reputation for being the least credible idiot on the Internet.

Why are you so intent on helping spread his trash then?

Because I'm secretly a Republican white supremacist. I'm surprised you haven't figured that out yet.

That would explain the rabbit ears.

The reason I posted it is because I have decided to make it my personal business to make sure the entire world knows that Larry Johnson is a piece of shit.

To that, I say bravo.
Are there advertisements on that site? Beyond for the KKK?

Bunnycat, the filth began over there a long time ago. Jedreport put together a list of hateful comments on the McCain (and possibly Clinton) sites. I wouldn't doubt that some people post this crap--in this case probably as a way to smear the candidate.
Ironic that Larry Johnson suddenly cares about hate speech on blogs--I hope he'll start cleaning up his site.

I'm not clicking through because I don't want to give him traffic. I will, however, unequivocally state that Larry Johnson is a giant hemorrhoid on the asshole of politics, and he has proven himself not just beneath contempt, but beneath the dog doo clinging to contempt's shoes.

Booman--I think--said something like, "Wow this guy used to be my friend but I'm this close to calling him a hemorrhoid on the asshole of politics..." I wonder what Josh thinks.

I agree.
Seriously, all that the breathless reporting here, Huffington Post, Raw Story, and elsewhere of the latest outrage of Johnson, Coulter, Limbaugh, and etc. accomplishes is to direct visitors to their various sites and increase their ad and book sales.
Remember when the multi-billion dollar Clinton hate industry berated Senator Clinton's book? It drove the sales up. Which I loved. But it works both ways.

He's an idiot. He, as the owner of a blog site, knows as well as anybody that you can't control what people post, but you can scrub highly offensive posts when you find out about them. Which is what happened on the Obama site.

Can someone explain this to me. Did the words in question appear on Obama's website? Were they put in as a blog post by someone? If so, how can Larry use that as an example of Obama's philosophy?
I have been to Obama's website many times, but just go to the areas where his positions are explained -- official stuff. I didn't even realize there were places to post on there, but it seems downright squirrelly to hold him responsible for what someone other than his official people write in.

Based on Larry Johnson's logic, at certain times in the wee hours of the night, this very site, TPM, actively endorses clandestine sales of Viarga and Ciailis from overseas, and questionable methods of repaying delinquent loans.

STOP POSTING IT, STOP READING IT. He gets added press and added credit when people keep mentioning it. Let's play Barack Obama...let's let this shit roll off our backs, and take the high road.

Linking to Johnson's site, or worse debating what appears there, is exactly like trading insults with trolls who post here.
Same goes for dealing with online Hillary dead-enders. Don't feed them, and they will die.
The superbly organized Obama campaign monitors the ebb and flow of net opinion, including its exagerrations, distortions and lies.
Trust it to judge when pushback becomes useful.
