Superdelegates: You Know Whar or Get off the Pot
Just a quick note while I am watching, The Newshour with Jim Lehrer, and after watching NBC Nightly News.
If Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid want this primary season to end now (putting their money where their mouths are), they should jointly declare for Obama no later than 9 AM tomorrow.
I'm not sure why Dems are dithering, but they need to act before the polls close in Montana.
(It would be good if Al Gore joined Reid and Pelosi.)

Pelosi won't. She's already said - time and again - that as Chair of the Convention she has to remain officially neutral.

Yes, but as my title (with the typo) alludes to, if she is adamant about the contest ending, she needs to walk her talk.
If both sides were even, then it would make sense for her to remain neutral. But this is not the case now.

Yeah, but why push the biggest of the biggest Super Dels tomorrow, when enough of the other Super Dels will be coming out in small droves for Obama over the rest of the week to push him over the mark by Friday?
I don't think we should expect Harry and Nancy to come out for Obama tomorrow, or any other time, before the convention.
(As you can see, I'm trying to stay calm and level-headed and realistic -- that's because I've gotten my hopes up so many times before only to have them dashed.)

Yes, LisB, calm and level headed is what we need. Obama wants to win this by having the majority of the pledged delegates, which he will have by tomorrow night. He does not want it "decided" by the SDs. So, once the last voter in America turns out the light tomorrow night, the SDs will flock to him.

Thanks, Kate, and may I say, nice hat!! The only reason I'm saying Friday, though, is because I'm not sure there are enough delegates up for grabs in Montana and SD for us to carry it with the vote itself, tomorrow. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

According to NBC Nightly News, 34 SuperD's are set to pledge by the end of Wednesday. Why are they waiting an extra day?
If they all pledge tomorrow, Obama will only need 4.5 pledged delegates from the MT and SD primaries.

I am hearing that the entire congressional hangers on could go for Obama tomorrow--maybe a few for Clinton out of loyalty. But here in DC it's pretty much suspected that the cards have already been dealt--just a matter of laying them on the table.
If I could send you the hat for your collection I would. Got it on a visit to County Cork 15 years ago, in search of my great grand daddy's grave. It's genuine Irish tweed. Would be great on your shelf! Like I've said before, I am after Lalo's hat for you. I will find him, and I will turn it over to you! If it's the last thing I do!!
