I don't think McCain is an idiot. So, he's either saying one word when he clearly means another or he's pretending to misspeak because it worked for Bush.
Think about it. Bush got beaten up in the media for being a moron and people felt sorry for him and identified with him (and voted for him).
So McCain is either crazy like a fox or just old. Either way, it does give one pause.

We could get a betting pool going. Imagine the gaffs ahead of time! Then see who predicts correctly!
Just kidding of course. But the guy is a walking train wreck. Very sad actually. But because he has no shame, he seems oblivious. Which, of course, makes it even worse! He gets so angry when his gaffs are pointed out - for that very reason!
So let him make his mistakes (which, as compulsive talker, he will), then call him on them, and watch the volcano erupt! It's an interesting cycle. And we're likely to have it recur many, many times. Can't wait for it to happen in debates!

I wonder if we can run that in ads. Someone posted a YouTube of McCain sound asleep during the State of the Union. It is no longer available. Is there any way to save and keep this evidence?

C'mon. Cut this out. This was a mere slip of the tongue. There are wa-a-a-a-a-y plenty of real mistakes ("Iran supports Al Qaeda") and political horrors ("100 years. Maybe 1000") to attack McCain.
Let's not be Fox News. Go after the real issues of ignorance and wrongness, not the silly slips.
