Osama, John and George
I posted this about a month ago, and it went over like a fart in church, but given Charlie Black's latest blurt of the truth, it seemed on-topic. Please forgive the blatant re-post and give it a read.
President Bush and John McCain do have a relationship with Osama Bin Laden. They are each others' Secretary of Fear.
I
do not think that we captured or killed Bin Laden years ago and the
administration releases tapes when it is politically useful. This is
silly, and I think most people know it. When we Democrats suggest it,
we sound like idiots.
Bin Laden is still on the loose and
acting of his own free will. The reason that nearly every one of his
released messages reinforces McBush talking points is very simple:
THEY HAVE IDENTICAL POLITICAL INTERESTS.
Mr. Bush is nothing
without the threat of Bin Laden, there is no way he could have gotten
away with ignoring the constitution, let alone win re-election, without
him as a bogeyman. Similarly, Bin Laden is nothing without the threat
of Mr. Bush as a recruiting tool and rallying cry. This is a classic
symbiotic relationship. Bin Laden's greatest fear is that our next
president will dramatically change foreign policy, engage our enemies,
and show the world that Americans are not all trigger-happy bullies.
This is the simple reason why he always says "Boo" at a politically
convenient time for the Bush.
Lets get past the
conspiracy theories, and address the real issue, so that when the Bin
Laden video comes this October, people might see it in the right
context.

Great post. Thank you.
But how to get the MSM trumpeting it?

I think Charlie Black's comments are a good start at getting this out there, for nothing is better than it coming from the horse's mouth and it opens the door for the Democrats, rather than us prying it open carefully.

Let's just keep saying it, beating the drum, until the MSM says "those people are nuts." Then, if it doesn't happen, great. "Those people" were nuts. No sweat off Obama directly. But if it DOES happen, people are inoculated as much as possible against it. Because the initial reaction will be as it was in NYC, "rallying round." But if we've put out the message that "If it happens, THEY own it"... that'll stick in some minds.

Yes indeed. Bush/Cheney/McCain/bin Laden are truly the Axis of Fear. They sustain each other.
Recall how Bush picked up the Megaphone atop the rubble of 9/11 and amplified bin Laden's message of fear. They have not stopped doing so from that day to the present.
Franklin Roosevelt told us: We have nothing to fear but fear itself.
Bush/Cheney/McCain/bin Laden keep telling us: Fear is all we have.

"Fear is all we have." That should be their slogan. Nicely expressed, especially in contrast with FDR.

Excellent post. I hadn't ever thought of it quite like that, but you're absolutely right. George Bush's entire reason for being, for two presidential terms is Osama Bin Laden. Without him, Bush is nothing. And Bin Laden too. What a clever insight.
Thanks.

Yes! Thank you! The global struggle of our age is between the liberals of Muslim and Western societies and the fundamentalists of the Muslim and Western societies. Their weapon is fear and ours is intelligence.

"THEY HAVE IDENTICAL POLITICAL INTERESTS."
WOW! One simple, succinct sentence - and it says it all! Brilliant.

And there may be a reason we haven't caught him, but that's another story.
Certainly they have identical interests, in that they are symbiotic entities of conflict and ideology. Nice post. Succinctly put. Tragic, but true.

I had a lot of time to think yesterday, and this kept coming back into my head. Really pissed me off, what this Black guy said. The more I thought about it, the more hot I got.
Here's to hoping the people have had enough of being afraid.

I agree but, the Bush/Cheney vs. Obana/Alzwahiri(sp) matchup is like a school yard brawl between a couple of omega bullies against a couple of alpha Ali/Frazer types.
Bin Laden has proven time and again that he knows what the fuck he's doing. He knows how to accomplish his goals while expending the least amount of his limited resources across the most efficient time-line. People follow Bin Laden of their own free will. Bin Laden knows how to get the most bang for his buck. Bin Laden is the enemy but, he is diffinately a top line alpha leader.
Bush/Cheney are proof that even with unlimited resources and time to accomplish a goal, an omega will still fail due to their inability to be percieved as the groups leader. Subterfuge and bullying are never viewed as leadership and failure from within is the predictable result as this is the only way an omega can retain power.
A pussy with the biggest stick is still a pussy.
People follow Obama, not just the voters here but much of the entire world. They mention many rationals for doing so but, the fact is they wouldn't follow him if he weren't an aplha. (It's a subconscious behavorial thing.) In so much as this is the reality, Bin Laden will find himself against a worthy opponent with far greater resources to apply against him.
If Obama is elected, Bin Laden will soon be a minor footnote in the history of the world.

We Democrats should take up a collection and buy Charlie Black a thank-you gift. Anybody know his favorite brand of Scotch?
I'm serious. The American public has demonstrated that it can be terrorized out of its wits. The media has demonstrated that it's even stupider than the public at large. To any logical person 'another 9/11' would prove that invading Iraq didn't work; torturing prisoners didn't work; warantless wiretapping didn't work. And yet the media consensus is that 'another 9/11' would drive votes to the GOP, presumably on the theory that such an attack would prove we need more invasions, more torture, more warrantless wiretaps.
It would be hard for Democrats to say "We told you so" AFTER another terrorist attack. The time to make the logical argument is BEFORE it happens. But it would have been unseemly for Democrats to raise the issue -- until now. Charlie Black opened the door. We really should thank him for doing it.
But we also have to walk through the door. Alas, I don't see that happenning.

Agreed. Black opened the door, now.... all Summer long.... we gotta stand outside and beat the drum. "If it happens, YOU own it." An attack or incident - in its' first stages - produces very different reactions and feelings just a few days later. So we have to inoculate people against this, now. So IF it happens - and it's a long-shot, but then again, so is McCain - we can just say..... SEE! There it is! And THEY'RE the guys in charge.

Charlie Black is fucking nuts! Another Al Qaeda attack on US soil would prove without a doubt the impotence of this neocon, theistic, moronic, self-indulged, narcissistic, arrogant, piss-ant republican administration. Charlie thinks it would be good for McCain. sheesh!!! What a dip-shit.
Fuck those fucking fuckers!
