Obama nomination victory thread: 155 days to do something about the last 8 years
Obama has clinched the nomination according to the Associated Press. (not that we didn't already know it was over - but it's nice to make it official)
Here's what I'd like you to do with this thread:
1. Tell me what you're going to do between now and November 4th to make sure that Barack Obama is the next President of the United States.
2. Click here to show John McCain and the the GOP how difficult it's going to be to campaign against Barack Obama.
3. Tell me which TPM blogger avatar will be picked as Obama's VP nominee.
Yes We Can!

1. I'm going to volunteer and actively campaign for a candidate for the first time in my life!
2. Another $25 for the Obama campaign
3. How about Billy Glad for VP?

Thanks for the vote, but I won't be old enough to hold the office for another 34.5 years.

1) Work to ensure Hillary Clinton isn't on the ticket
2) I feel good about the money going to the GE rather than a needless fight against Hillary
3) Idiotic

I just want to let everybody know, for historical reference, that June 3 was the day the week-long Zoot Suit Riots began, when a mob of 60 from the Los Angeles Naval Reserve Armory beat up everyone perceived to be Hispanic.
I just automatically think of June 3 as Zoot Suit Riot Day, in case that ever pops up in conversation and it seems inexplicable or inappropriate to you.
That's just how I remember it's June 3.
So don't freak out or make a big deal out of it if I bring it up.

clearthinker,
I believe anythign you give at this point will be used for the GE. Obama isn't prohibited from spending primary money on the GE, just from spending GE money on the primary.
So give now and let's get organizers and ads up all across the country!

Yoda, I was having fun making a point a few hours early. Yes, I know the GE clock now is running!
Forget Denver -- onto the White House!

1. I'm going to make phone calls, register voters, put up signs, etc. to make Colorado blue this year.
2. I'll make another donation when I get my stimulus check later this week. George Bush insisted on this stupid stimulus check, so I'm going to stimulate where it hurts him!
3) I have to go with Yoda. Covers the age and experience issue.

My whole family canvassed for Obama a couple weeks ago, and the Obama film crew followed us for a morning in Lawrence, KS, and rigged me up with a remote microphone.
I was in the Vote for Change video, at the very end of the mini-flick, just after Kathleen Sebelius talks about the future for us all, you can see the video here,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Asnz8-wHME0
...if you want to know what I will be doing, just watch the WHOLE video to the very end, you will see what I intend to be doing between now and November...
I hope many of you will do the same, or better.

1) I'm going to call Utah for Obama and see if they're doing anything useful (which would be a big change from the usual Utah Democratic practice). If not, I'm going to have to do my thing online.
2) Sure, youbetcha; I just need to balance my checkbook first.
3) Billy Gladd has worked tirelessly on behalf of Americans everywhere, but Yoda has the universal appeal and foreign policy experience that will remove any doubts.
And he's green, which is good for the Earth.

He's an alien and the Consitution disqualifies him.
Sorry, Yoda!

True, but I'm not conceding that I won't be the VP nominee tonight.

I'm giving time and money to Warner. I want him in the Senate. Along the way, I will contribute money to Obama. As much money as I can.
As for nominating a VP candidate from TPM, sorry. No can do. Smacks of an uber-regula popularity contest.

Baby Blue, I would have to drop my sword in order to kiss you. But if I did that I'd be tempted to investigate what I've long suspected – that underneath that swath of blue blanket and hat, you're really a gremlin.

I'm going to keep giving money to Obama's campaign, and I'm going to start canvassing my neighborhood. It's about time I get my ass out of the house for more than just a beer and cigarette run.

1. Spending a week campaigning in OH, where I graduated HS and my parents still live. My parents are in their 80s and will be working their fingers to the bone for Sen. Obama! They are an inspiration.
2. Contributed when his speech ended.
3. I'm avatar challenged at the moment, so I feel unqualified.
As a personal note, Yoda, I want to thank you for your insights and humor in during this amazing primary season. I look forward to more!

Collecting unemployment and severence now, so money is tight. Live in Denver, so if anyone else does and has ideas, please lend them to me.
