Obama At AIPAC: Blame It On Hillary Clinton
All us good little Democrats are working night and day to restore party unity, but some prominent progressive websites apparently haven't gotten the message.
Paul Woodward at War in Context was already a progressive way back when Markos Moulitsas was still running around in a Ronald Reagan beanie, but now Woodward has turned against the "presumptive" or "very likely based on non-binding expressions of preference by super-delegates" nominee of the Democratic Party for President of the United States:
Yesterday was the day the "change" bubble burst. Obama's performance at AIPAC shows that his grasp of Middle East politics has yet to rise to the level of George Bush's! That's an incredible thing to have to say (especially for someone who still intends to vote Democrat) but what Obama demonstrated was the myopia of a candidate who has thrown principle to the wind and decided he will say anything to secure votes and donations. His was a polished performance in the politics of business-as-usual, burnished with a genuflection to Zionism that was utterly uncalled for.How did it happen?
I can only suppose that having become so deeply enmeshed in Hillary Clinton's psyche, Obama decided he'd couldn't hold back in parroting her down to a T if he was to win over her rightwing Jewish supporters. Having made that choice, he then thought, what the hell? I'll see if I can pull in the whole Likudnik crowd as well.
Barack Obama is "enmeshed in Hillary Clinton's psyche!" She can probably make him quack like a duck! "Yes quack quack We Can!"
This is an unintentionally hilarious new low in the game of "Blame it on Hillary Clinton."
...but the Palestinians aren't laughing.

If you bothered to read anything about Obama's speech to AIPAC, your head would probably explode from too much information, but why bother to post a pathetically inane ad hominem attack under a diary you didn't even try to understand?
Get lost, you simple-minded hump!

So rude! Besides being about a week behind the curve on this story, you certainly are full of yourself.
A peek at your profile and your previous comments confirms that you are quite the arrogant bully. You certainly picked an appropriate avatar.

Obama's little thugs have been insulting everybody who ever said a kind word about Hillary Clinton for six months, but when they get the same treatment shoved back in their ugly little faces, they whine like some punk who just got a well-deserved slap-down.
Boo hoo!

I watched his whole speech. But WTF does that have to do with your point? your point appears to be rather superficial and in no way about the substance of Obama's speech. It is about your disapproval of a writer's interpretation of that speech.
Many many writers will see things differently than you. If you want to get all twitterpated over it, that's your right - it's retarded, but your right.
But do you have to compound your idiocy by also being a raging dick?

It's obviously okay for Obama and his friends to play the race card all over the campaign for six months...
It's obviously okay for Obama attack Hillary Clinton about NAFTA and then vote for NAFTA-Peru himself..
It's obviously okay for Obama to attack Hillary Clinton for voting to authorize the war in Iraq and then vote to fund it himself over and over again...
And it's obviously okay for Obamabots to insult anyone who ever said a good word about Hillary Clinton as a "racist"...
But if anybody finally gets mad at the lying hypocrite Barack Obama and the thuggery of his "friends" all over the internet...
That's incomprehensible!
So take your insult and shove it back in your own ugly face, you jerk!

Not to mention useless fucking hump.

"Coralsea" is one of the few Obamabots who ever wrote a grammatically correct sentence, and now this! I'm very disappointed.
But I have to sympathize at least a little with a relatively intelligent Obamabot like "coralsea"...
All those insults the Obamabots have been screaming at Hillary Clinton and anyone who ever said a kind word about her sound so much worse when they start coming back at you...
It must be a shock!

In every single post you publish, along with your comments in the threads, you exhibit rage. Over and over. Everything you post is from a position of indignity and rage. You're obviously intelligent and you have talent. It's too bad all we get to see it used on is your hostility. That's why I made that comment.
You've posted and commented enough here at TPM to have revealed yourself as a very mean, nasty, miserable, and very likely, lonely guy. I pity you.

Maybe you're so infatuated with your hypocritical Messiah that you can't understand why anyone might really despise Obama for playing the race card against Hillary Clinton over and over and over...
If anyone actually attacks Obama the same way his little thugs have been attacking Hillary Clinton for six months, it can't be because Obama is nothing but a manipulative made-for-TV freak with a hate-America entourage.
And if Obama actually manages to get elected, we can all look forward to him supporting his little haters with the power of the Presidency!
But it may not happen.

Yes, I get it. I did read the speech. And now you're mad that Paul Woodward, noting Obama's apparent compromise of principle, blames it on Hillary.
Yeah, it's silly thing for him to have said. That much is obvious. Why get so worked up over it?

"Why get so worked up over it?"
Maybe my patience was exhausted by six months of non-stop character assassination against Hillary Clinton, and one day I decided to get just as down and dirty as the Obamabots.
There's a little background in my diary Obama's Thugs Suppress Discussion on Daily Kos, and that was way back before Obama's thugs got really nasty.
June 13, 2008 7:49 PM | Reply | Permalink
You had a bad experience at Kos. Look, there are going to be jerks everywhere you go. There are some decent people here, too, but you make it almost impossible to even approach you. You assume people are your enemies before you've even given them a chance to engage in a conversation with you.
Your first blog post here intrigued me until I got about halfway through it, and it became obvious you wanted to just do some trashing and acting out on your anger against, I suppose, all Obama supporters. It's as if you assume that anyone who supports Obama is automatically going to be an enemy. That's just silly. We don't all think with the same brain.
If you really want to talk on TPM--not just fight--you'll find intelligent people to engage with.

Hundreds of people had the same "bad experience" on Daily Kos, but as of today it doesn't really matter.
McCain's unwavering support for the torture camp at Guantanamo has finally tipped the scale for me... not just away from voting for McCain, because that was never a real possibility, but away from writing anything that might directly or indirectly contribute even infinitesimally to the election of John McCain.
John McCain disgraces the uniform he wore and the memory of all the brave men and women who ever served under the American flag. Any objection I might have to the candidacy of Barack Obama is insignificant compared to the necessity of restoring the honor of the United States States, which the coward John McCain has irredeemably betrayed.

Jacob, speaking as one of many who have made a special effort to clean up the doodoo left by trolls, I am basically okay with the fact that you continue to suck your thumb and play paddycake in your loaded diaper.
If there were ever an intelligent point in one of your posts that needed to be reckoned with on an adult level, I couldn't write you off with: Say "Googoo! Googoo!"
Baby troll turds. How cute.

You stinking little haters for Obama have already made a lot of enemies for your hypocritical Messiah with your brain-dead ad hominem attacks against anyone who dared to criticize him, and you will inevitably make the money-grubbing media whore Obama more and more enemies as the campaign progresses.
But why bother to attack me? I'm just quoting Paul Woodward, who says Obama is "a candidate who has thrown principle to the wind and decided he will say anything to secure votes and donations."
Here's a guy with a prominent "progressive" website who characterizes Obama as a money-grubbing media whore with no principles whatsoever!
And you're still wasting your silly insults on me!

It's unusually honest for an Obamabot to admit that it doesn't even both to read anything critical of their hypocritical Messiah!
Congratulations!
And it's just as well you didn't bother to read my essay... I used three or four multi-syllabic words, and even included a couple of ideas.

There's a difference between "turning against" someone -- Jacob Freeze claims I turned against Obama -- and making pointed criticism.
I support Barak Obama and believe that he is truly a once-in-a-generation candidate. That doesn't mean I'm certain he'll make a fine president -- simply that he has unparalleled potential.
He has my support, but it isn't blind support. If he makes a blunder, I won't hesitate to point it out. Trotting out the phrase "undivided Jerusalem" in front of AIPAC was uncalled for and ill-considered. Even from the purely cynical vantage point of trying to win sympathy in front of that audience, his comments backfired since he quickly had to backtrack, alienating himself from those who already had their suspicions about him.
Suppose Obama had been so bold as to have revive a position that Howard Dean once had the audacity to suggest: that the US should adopt an "even-handed" approach to the Middle East. Would the sky have fallen down?
He would certainly have made headlines, but maybe -- just maybe -- the time would have been right to utter what is surely plain common sense. Instead of having to spin his use of the word "undivided" by turning it into an "open access" Jerusalem, he could have advanced the substantive discussion about the conflict and staked out a position closer to that of the arch rebel himself: George HW Bush. (For those who have forgotten, "even-handed" was once a given -- not some unthinkable political risk.)

It's a real pleasure to see Paul Woodward commenting on my post. He used to run one of the best progressive sites on the internet until he turned into just another cheerleader for Obama, and now he wants to have everything both ways, just like his hypocritical Messiah Barack Obama!
Why would I think he has turned against a candidate "who has thrown principle to the wind and decided he will say anything to secure votes and donations.
Why would anyone turn against a candidate who is nothing but a money-grubbing media whore with no principles whatsoever?
Paul Woodward's criticism of Obama even makes me sound like a raving Obamabot!
And yet he still supports Obama!
Before Paul Woodward drank the cool-aid, was he looking for a candidate "who has thrown principle to the wind and decided he will say anything to secure votes and donations.
How did the Paul Woodward, who used to have as much integrity as any progressive on the internet, end up supporting a money-grubbing media whore with no principles whatsoever?

Larry, a former conservative Jew, was at a party when he ran into one of his old friends from college. "What are you doing here, Larry? You were always so outspoken about your beliefs in College. Yet now I find you surrounded by hippies, eating carelessly and smoking pot."
"True. That's the trip I was on then. But one evening I actually started listening to myself and hearing what I was saying for the first time and that's when I realize something important."
"What was that?"
"I was defiled more by what was coming out of my mouth than by what others were putting into theirs."

It's always nice to see someone quoting scripture, or really anything that wasn't published on the internet in the last 24 hours.
But it's a little weird to see Jesus replaced in the story by a hippy named Larry!
The Gospel According to Saint Mark, 7:18...
7:18. And he saith to them: So are you also without knowledge? Understand you not that every thing from without entering into a man cannot defile him:
7:19. Because it entereth not into his heart but goeth into his belly and goeth out into the privy, purging all meats?
7:20. But he said that the things which come out from a man, they defile a man.
7:21. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
7:22. Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.
7:23. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.

But if demosaur is looking for a Biblical injunction against righteous indignation, he should probably stick with the "wisdom" of his friend Larry, however dopey it may be, because there is no such injunction in the Bible. On the contrary...
John 2:14... In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!"
Jesus would probably be whipping the hypocritical Messiah Barack Obama out of the campaign, because even his supporters like Paul Woodward admit that Obama is nothing but a money-grubbing media whore with no principles whatsoever.

A university student asked Gasan, "have you ever read the Christian Bible?"
"No, read it to me," said Gasan.
The student opened the Bible and read from St. Matthew: "And why take ye thought for rainment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They toil not, neither do they spin, and yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these... Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself."
Gasan said: "Whoever uttered those words I consider an enlightened man."
The student continued reading: "Ask and it shall be given to you, see and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened for you. For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened."
Gasan remarked: "That is excellent. Whoever said that is not far from Buddhahood."

Obviously Hillary Clinton was out of her league in terms of unscrupulous hate-mongering when she went up against the hypocritical Messiah Barack Obama!
So... No, you can't blame me on Hillary Clinton.
And if you looked through the comments on my diaries here, you might conceivably notice that I never make the first ad hominem attack.
But unlike most of the rest of the sites devoted to political discussion on the internet, here Barack Obama and his army of little haters don't get to have it all their own way.
Hillary Clinton has been accused of everything from racism to plotting the assassination of Barack Obama, in hundreds of thousands of semi-literate "comments" all over the internet, and everybody who ever said a kind word about her has been attacked the same way.
Isn't it surprising to get the same sort of insults thrown back in your ugly little faces?

Why don't you post under your real name, you chicken-shit little pseudonym?
And I have to credit Paul Woodward for posting a substantial reply to my essay. All the rest of it is just silly insults, and astonishment that the same thing comes flying back in your ugly little faces!
Obamabots got a free ride from Hillary Clinton's relatively polite and intelligent supporters, but now the free ride is over for all the chicken-shit little pseudonyms.
Now you get your own shit thrown back in your ugly little faces!
