McCain's Bus Driver Has No Sense of Irony

This really happened to me today - at about 5:00 on a highway in MA - I am really not kidding.

The traffic in the right lane wasn't backed up, but was moving slow, with one car at a time taking their life into their hands, accelerating out into the middle lane to get out from behind a slow moving vehicle.

As I approached, I saw a McCain sign on the back of the vehicle causing the slowdown (leading the parade, as I call it) and I thought - no way - it couldn't be.

It was.  The Straight Talk Express - going 55mph in a 65mph zone, in the right lane, with the turn signal on nowhere near an exit.

Again, I am not kidding, this really happened today.

GEEEZ! Did you see the driver? Was it the old man himself?

I believe that is GEEZER!

I'm not seeing McCain in the crowds at Fenway. Hmmm... But his schedule DOES say he was in Boston & NH today before hitting NYC tonight. SPEAKING OF WHICH, let's NOT let New Hampshire be Vermont's evil twin this year, OK??? Let's get on the ground up there and at least tell our friends to vote OBAMA in NEW HAMPSHIRE in Novmeber. There's no excuse for NH depressing the New England batting average.

I just made sure my Dad contacted our relatives up there to have them VOTE OBAMA even though they're more Republican....

PS - Mikey Lowell just hit a Grand Slam... Nice...

PPS - Go Celtics!!!

I completely agree! I live in VT, and I want NH to go blue again. They certainly could, considering how liberal they've gone in the past few years. It's our good influences next door. ;D

Not sure, but, isn't the speed limit for commercial vehicles on Federal highways 55? Trucks, RVs, buses, etc.?

Yes, but they have to stay in the right lane. The bus was in the middle lane.

That's what the comment said "... The Straight Talk Express - going 55mph in a 65mph zone, in the right lane, with the turn signal on nowhere near an exit".

The speed limit for commercial vehicles in MA is the same as for passenger cars unless otherwise posted. Please refer to this chart from the IIHS:
http://www.iihs.org/laws/speedlimits.aspx

Not in MA. It depends on the state.

LOL.

More about McCain's driving here:

It's a pretty amusing article.

Gas is more than $4/gal, as well all well know. Gonna make it cheaper to go 55 and to move the DNC to Chicago.

The first time McCain's driver gets a speeding ticket in that bus he's out of a job. Imagine how "ironic" that'd look splashed all over the 24 hour news cycle.

I'm guessing here but I think it's safe to say the driver is from out of state and was looking for his exit and therefore had his turn signal on.

I've driven commercial vehicles before. It never failed to amaze me how dumb some car drivers are traveling in the right lane expecting lumbering trucks and buses to match their speed when it's clearly illegal in most states for them to do so.

If you keep mocking McCain's age we'll lose PA and FL without him having to spend a dime folks. Ageism is as disgusting as racism or sexism and just as stupid. Please stop, you're hurting Obama.

seriously, shut up. there is no need to take everything so seriously, I was just passing along a humurous anecdote. And by the way, the person who laughed the hardest was my father, who also fits into the stereotype.

Those buses speed down the hwy all the time. No one is going to throw the driver under the bus for speeding.

markg8- It's friday. Have a beer. Or see if you can get yourself laid.

Holding up traffic and pissing off MA drivers?

That's not change we can believe in.

This post made my week.

He's gonna have to throw a lot of buddies under that bus as all their shenanigans come to light. Might as well make it as painless as possible. I wonder if his bus will be taking the turnpike on his way outta NJ today. he better hope he doesn't get too close to any NJ Transit buses, cuz the way they drive they will run him right off the road.

That story is a truly great metaphor for his campaign!

People keep acting offended by these stories of bumbling and flailing, because they assume them to be attacks on McCain's age. His age is not the real issue - it's his cluelessness! Lots of older people project wisdom and farsightedness. McCain is not one of them.

John McCain is no Ted Kennedy.
