Lanny Davis...the Weasel joins Faux News

Lanny Davis still bitter and clinging to the primary campaign will be joining Fox News as an analyst according to Fox News June 16, 2008. Lanny claims he is joining Fox because they were always fair and balanced and treated him very well. He is upset with MSNBC Chris Mathews and Keith Olberman because they treated Hillary so badly. He hates CNN because he feels they always "ganged" up against him. I guess because he did not believe in the truth, then the other analysts on these shows should have joined him in his parallel universe. Only Lanny Davis (an alleged Democrat) believes that Faux News is "fair and balanced" and according to Fox he will be appearing regularally next to Karl Rove....shows you how far Lanny has fallen.

It's great to see the Weasel is finally going home where he belongs..... on Faux News.

Lanny Davis has it right...Fox is the only "fair and balanced" news channel! I never noticed this until this election cycle. CNN and MSNBC have been so noticably "in the tank" for Obama!

I will assume that your post is made in sarcasm and you really are not the fool your post implies. It wasn't until the nomination was effectively out of reach for Clinton that Fox started treated her with kid gloves and giving voice to her "grievances" as part of its hope to keep her, and her supporters, false hopes alive. They played her, and they are playing you now. Try watching one episode of "Fox and Friends" the daily morning news show if you don't see this. That should open your eyes.
As for Lanny Davis, well, he's finally found an appropriate home. I'm sure he and Rove and Hannity will have loads of fun.

Is this snark?

You mean he's not already on the payroll? This guy is as much a Democrat as his buddy Lieberman and Zell Miller. He's a complete joke. It's interesting how many of Clinton's most zealous supporters are now Fox News contributors. Makes me glad she's not our nominee.

Oh man. This is too perfect. Thanks for the heads up, good riddance, Lanny.

The problem for the progressive coalition is that, if Lanny "belongs" at Fox, so too do many members of the progressive coalition. I will assert that the poster, in reality, "belongs" at Fox as much as Lanny Davis does. This campaign has been ugly, ane while many of Clinton supporters watched Fox for the first time during portions of this campaign, we didn't do it because we are any less progressive than Obama supporters. We did it because we felt that our former news venues were in the tank for Obama. We could have been wrong about Olbermann (guffaw), but then again that's what happens in a campaign.

I think it's kind of cute that folks are pounding on Lanny Davis now, even though the man has devoted his entire life to the Democratic Party. I think the pounding and the ridicule speaks far more about the serious rift in the Democratic Party than it does about the progressive credentials of Lanny Davis.

There are real problems in the progressive coalition folks. Even if Senator Obama wins, and we'll all vote for him, there are people on this very website who proclaimed that Obama's victory meant that "we" took "our" party back. Where does that leave the rest of us who have supported the Democratic Party for decades?

Lanny Davis isn't the issue; Lanny's new job is a tangible reflection of the real rift in our Party. Mock him, ridicule him, but you remain no more progressive or loyally Democratic than he does. I know what I say is not linear, but it is so. Don't let me spoil the day's witch burning though. Have it at real progressives (chuckle).

Lanny is no progressive and certainly not loyal to the Democratic Party. This is a guy who supported Joe Lieberman even after he lost the primary. The same Lieberman who now supports McCain. Are you really so ignorant as to not know this? Sure looks like it.

avatar

"you remain no more progressive or loyally Democratic than he does"

Except, of course, we don't support candidates who run against our party's Senate nominees, but hey small difference...

Lanny's new job is a tangible reflection of the real rift in our Party.

Lanny's new job is a tangible reflection of a fading scratch in our party that the bitterest deadenders would like to rip into a gaping, bloody wound.

It's also a reflection of his work as the chief propagator of NoQuarter/Hillaryis44 conspiracy theories in the media.

The guy's whole contribution to the primaries was as scummy as Pfleger's idiotic outburst, but of course, he supported Hillary Clinton, thus he's infallible.

Lanny will fit right in among the lower life forms at Faux News.

It just goes to show you that Lanny Davis, like most people, can be bought.

But the Obamans who still maintain that MSNBC didn't go in the tank for their guy are either delusional or stubborn. Don't misunderstand me. Olbermann, Matthews et al. have a perfect right to slant the news any way they want. It's their shows ... until the boss tells them otherwise.

Fair and balanced? That only applies to the networks who employed guys like Tim Russert (who didn't let his political views overshadow his work). it doesn't apply to Fox (Lanny Davis will fit in well there) and it sure doesn't apply to MSNBC. The only question remaining is, if Obama wins, which MSNBC guy will be his Press Secretary.

Lanny must owe back taxes.

Lanny Davis said he would rally behind Obama, clearly he lied. Joining Fox News, Clinton should be ashamed of him.

Those who think Fox News has been fair and balanced are delusional. If you think MSNC has been pro-Obama, Fox News has been shamelessly anti-Obama by spreading false rumors and distorting the truth.

Have fun Lanny, you are one of the reasons I started hating Hillary. You did nothing more but to give her a bad name.

Lanny Davis was a regular on the G. Gordon Liddy radio show in the 90's. They are good buddies.

Since Lanny couldn't help Hillary put a stake through Obama's heart in the primaries, he's now been assigned to join Fox to put a stake through his heart in the general, to clear the way for the Clinton "Comeback" to end all Clinton Comebacks in '12. More total delusion in Clintonland. The Clintons and their rich supporters simply can't accept the reality that Obama's revolution in fund-raising has taken the future of American politics out of their hands. Politics has been the power hobby of these supporters for decades. Now Obama's put power in the hands of the small donor masses. Lanny's a key point man for the counter-revolution for these fat cats. Too bad McCain's such a loser--and the war and $5 gas are so unpopular--that all the slings and arrows of outrageous Atwaters and Roves and Swift Boaters cannot smear him into submission this year.

Lanny Davis- unlike any other- represented the worst in Hillary Clinton during the primaries, became a blackmailer in the days following her concession but was always, is always and always will be a scumbag.

That bastard and Fox deserve eachother.

avatar

You are the weasel, Karen. You are a zero.

avatar

And, kash, YOU are the scumbag--a huge and savage one.

Now..now cythera4, you wouldn't be a troll by any chance would you?

Listen I never started this primary season with any dislike for Hillary. I really had no bad opinion of her as I believe in the Democtatic party and would have been happy if she was our nominee. I liked Obama because I had seen his speech at the Democratic convention in '04 and I started to follow his career. I really began paying more attention the night he won Iowa and just like everyone else I was impressed with his calm character and thoughtful aproach. After Iowa, Hillary won New Hampshire and it was a toss up for all to see and at that point it was for either one of them to win or loose. It was only after New hampshire that I saw a side to Hillary and her campaign that was ugly and not the party I had supported and been a part of since 1992. From the comments about Obamas' drug use from Hillarys' campaign advisor, Bill Clintons attack on Obamas' rightfull stance on the Iraq war, Hillarys' campaign out landish comments in Nevada regarding the system (a system they had set up) and the law suit that her supporters initiated against their own party to Bill Clinton in South Carolina. All of their activities turned people against them and the worst offender in my opinion was Lanny Davis. Lanny Davis took every opportunity to slander Obama and he was so evil and disgusting that I did not only hate Lanny Davis, but he managed to do what Hillary had failed, he managed to make me dislike Hillary. In his effort to promote the Hillary Land talking points he completely turned off millions who would have given Hillary a second glance. Lanny opened a window into the soul of a woman that we thought we knew, but yet still remained a mistery and that opening led to a dark, void, angry, hateful, empty, confused, vindictive person. I hope Lanny stays at Faux News, because he made me dislike Hillary and I never wanted to dislike Hillary. So all in all Lanny Davis is an opportunist and a Weasel.

Maybe Lanny can score a spot for Bubba on Fox as well!

Who cares if Olbermann was "in the bag" for Obama? He's a commentator, not a journalist. His show is in juxtaposition for the blatherings of O'Reilly. And I don't believe he pretends to be anything different. He never would have spouted off to Hillary if she hadn't stooped lower than low to bring up the RFK assassination "in June," among other low blows. (see her comments on who is prepared to be commander-in-chief) And he was right on. And if he and Matthews were clearly pro-Obama, well . . . so what? Really. So what? They are commentators. Take them or leave them. It's nothing like CNN leaving all journalistic integrity and keeping blowhards like Dobbs or inane question-asker Blitzer in prime time. I used to rely on CNN for somewhat balanced journalism. But that was long ago. Now I rely on multiple web sources to piece together what's going on. But I digress . . .

This is off the topic at hand, but I didn't know where else to make a comment:

Can anyone explain why Jim Gerlach (R, PA) is placing so many ads on Talking Points Memo? He votes down the line with Bush and has for years.

TPM seems like an extremely odd venue for ads for a Republican House member running for reelection.

Any insights?

Our friend Lanny was after one thing - power. He didn't give a rat's ass about our country or who became president. He hitched his wagon to Hillary's star and fought tooth and nail to get her where HE wanted her. When that fell through, he trotted off to a place where he could pile invective and false expertise in the happy company with other charlatans.
