Kucinich rises to impeach
Not on the front page of TPM - must be a mistake. Dennis has put it in our hands and I intend to at least notify and ask why my representative isn't backing the impeachment. No President in our history has deserved it more than this President. I can't begin figure out Pelosi and Reid but that's their problem not mine.

I've wondered why there hasn't been more on this as well.

I'm all for Bush's impeachment, but Kucinich lumps too much stuff into his resolution. He has things like:
Article XIIII
Creating a Secret Task Force to Develop Energy and Military Policies With Respect to Iraq and Other Countries.
Article XXX
Misleading Congress and the American People in an Attempt to Destroy Medicare.
Article XXXI
Katrina: Failure to Plan for the Predicted Disaster of Hurricane Katrina, Failure to Respond to a Civil Emergency.
While these are not things that Bush should have done I don't think they necessarily rise to impeachable offenses. Kucinich should have stuck to the main crimes: misleading the country into the Iraq War, torture, wiretapping, signing statements. Then there might have been a chance for a serious debate in the House on impeachment.

The articles are intended to provoke a debate in the House and a vote to follow. They could always revise the articles upon debate. I don't think it really matters what content he included. Pelosi will see this tabled just like the articles he advanced in November.

Unfortunately, Reid and Pelosi are a problem for all of us because they are keeping impeachment "off the table".

Yeah, the pragmatists say we should all calm down, but a mob of pitchforks should be waiting for these scum when they ooze out of the White House next January.

Every day, we advance towards a Caucescuan conclusion to what was once a formidable power.
But it will require the equivalent of peasants with pitchforks.
