It's on Record Now. Obama was leading McCain in Many States Before Bill/Hillary Came on Board
I just wanted to point out and put it in writing that Senator Barack Obama is doing quite well in the national and state wide polls, even before the first rally in New Hampshire today with Obama and Hillary on the stage together.
While I'm sure Obama appreciates any help she and Bill can give him, be mindful that he was doing very well before they stepped into the campaign to assist him.
In other words, the Clintons or their supporters can't claim to have 'given' or 'put' Barack Obama over the top - standing by his side in his campaign. They have a right to claim they 'helped'; but so far, things look like he will win with or without their 'direct' support.
Democrats were coming 'home' before the Clintons came on board. That's a fact now.
Latest Polls:
MINNESOTA -17
WISCONSIN-13
MICHIGAN-6
COLORADO-5
CALIFORNIA-28
NEW MEXICO-3
PENNSYLVANIA-4
INDIANA-1
OREGON-6
OHIO-5
VIRGINIA-2
FLORIDA-4 (in one poll)
MISSOURI-1 (in one poll)
NEVADA-TIED
IOWA-6
NEW JERSEY-11
NEW YORK-14
Some of you will say I'm worrying over nothing - just so long as he wins. I disagree, from what I've seen so far, Barack Obama will win this election on his own merit and campaign strategy (even if, God forbid, the Clintons dropped off the face of the earth today). I want this fact to be part of his legacy. I refuse to accept that he couldn't have done it without 'them'.
Just to clarify - I'm not saying he can do it without Clinton's supports, just the Clinton's themselves. I just happen to think Democrats will come home in November with or without them.

Connie, and I say this with much love, but you've gotta just get over the Clinton thing. Turn that eye to McCain. Or what the hell we're gonna do when Obama gets elected.

The only thing that would mess up this election for Democrats would be for Obama to put Hillary on the ticket, republicans would have a field day with the small vendors she stiffed or when she neglected to pay for her staffers health care.
Since he is doing fine in the polls the more distance between Obama and the Clinton debt repayment campaign the better.

Connie,
I just want to say "I got it". Im sure you will be called names and threatened with statements that you just hate hillary, and the point you are making which you so eloquently wrote, "his own merit" will be over looked. Im sure you will be told to get over it as you say. Just want to say that I feel yah. Double sided coin though and I understand it.She thought this was hers, it was her turn in line and it's gotta be tough for her, Im sure when you operate that way. I hear the pundits everyday (because I cant help but watch at least one pundit show a day) say she wants recognition of what she has done. I think its rather "obvious" what she done with vote tally's and such, but anyway. I got what you were trying to say or did say, and agree with you. He earned it, nothing was given to him, and Dems are Dems, have no business staying home or voting for someone as bad as McCain. I agree they would have come home in November and was perfectly resolved to they get what they deserve if they didn't. The choice is a clear one.
Before those that are prone to pouncing, or negative commment posting attack, I have moved on to McCain about 2 months ago. This is not about her, its about him when the smoke clears!

Thank you sean669! I'm glad somebody understands my point.
While Obama had the advantage of drawing black voters (after Iowa and NH) - Hillary had the advantage of being a politically experienced white person up against a non-politically experienced black person. To top that off, she was a very well known WOMAN that was married to a well liked two term Dem president.
Still.....Obama was able to win the nomination process. He did it without the Democratic establishment and the Clintons behind him.
He deserves to be recognized for those facts...I don't care how you disagree with his views or policies.
He got where he got, on his own merits and hard work.
As for what Hillary herself has done for us and she felt she deserved the nomination... I haven't figured that one out yet. She's a NY senator and the wife of the president that actually DID SOMETHING for us. I don't remember ever getting anything from her or ever receiving a benefit because of her - do you? In fact the opposite. Because of her and others, we are in two wars.
It was the media that assumed she DESERVED the SPOT of Dem's nominee - why I'm not sure, except that it made for good talking subjects. I don't see what she did on her own MERITS.
Is she a great speaker - yes. Did she work long hours to get nominated - yes. Did she DESERVE the nomination BEFORE the primary started - NO!

Hey Connie, Sorry took so long to answer. That is a Hell No. She doesn't deserve anything like that. I was trying to point out in a not so unkind way of the elitism and entitlement that some people have. I can just imagine what she thought she was entitled to because of who she is, and her fight on Health Care. What she put up with Bill, stayed with him....(maybe she truly loves him) thats not my point, but I think in her frame of mind, she felt it was her turn! Kinda like anyone who expects things to be given to them, rather than fighting for them. Hince her preperation for this election. She totaly ignored the people who were really pissed at her. She was diluted. Thats what a person who thinks they are entitled to something does.....
Peace Connie...:)
