How does Hillary transition from "I'm the strongest candidate to "he's the strongest candidate"?
Sen. Clinton has promised to support the democratic nominee know matter who it is. She's promised to campaign her heart out for the nominee.
She, and her campaign surrogates are pushing the "Hillary is the strongest candidate" so hard, it's hard to imagine how they could change their rhetoric without seeming disingenuous. Governor Ed Rendell, just yesterday, said we'll probably select the weakest candidate as our nominee.
Anyone have any thoughts on how they'll manage to do this?
My only expectation from Sen. Clinton, or prerequisite I should say is that once Obama wins the nomination, she announce that he won it fair and square.

Easy: he's the strongest candidate, because I'm no longer a candidate. It's the exact same message that every politician has to face during that point in the primary cycle (or shortly after) when they realize that they've lost.

I don't see Hillary or Bill campaigning for Obama. I see them doing exactly what they did for Al Gore in 2000. Not much... (and mind you they knew in 1996 that they wouldn't be running for President in 2000 but instead of lessening the impact of the Neverending Scandal-gate on Al, they stuck around, alienating voters, energizing Republicans and setting up a difficult Gore election win if not the actual loss itself.

That flip flop would be the most genuine thing Hillary would have done in six months!

they'll have to pull a mccain. put their arms around him, kiss him on the cheek, and tell the country they're proud to help elect him the next president of the US... and then quietly head back to their hotel room and weep uncontrollably for three hours.

Bill said directly today that this is the last day he will be involved in a campaign - hard to see him working for Obama.
As someone suggested upthread, Hillary has shown she can say one thing one day, the opposite thing the next day, and claim there is no contradiction. She may concede as early as tomorrow evening. She will be an asset for Obama's campaign.
