Hillary 's Underhanded Design: The Undermining of Obama

avatar

Unlike the Republican Party which is still mired in a primitive state of racial prejudice, the Democratic Party, while recently it exhibited internal and subtle incidents of racial discontent, it has for the most part done its damndest best toward racial harmony, never mind that there are still within the party some elements who really should be with the Republicans. That is where clearly they belong. Contrary to what they would have us all believe, quite a sizable segment of Hillary's supporters who profess to be genuine Democrats, but threaten to vote for John McCain if she did not get the Democratic nomination are in fact Republicans who crossed over to vote for Hillary to create mischief that would either put Hillary on top, or for that matter, prolong the primaries into the Democratic Convention. Having failed to realize both goals, are now intent on orchestrating a disguised racially motivated anti-Obama campaign within the Domocratic, with the overall objective of weakening Barack and strengthening McCain, all for the purpose of creating conditions for the re-emergence of Hillary, come Denver Convention. With this in mind, then, it would be naive to assume that this is without the encouragement of Hillary herself, much less her blessings. Other than the flimsy excuse she has given about doing it for her daughter, why would she still be holding firm on her delegates? Why not release them to Obama if she really means her declarative statement of support for Obama? Well, clearly she believes something cataclysmic could preponderate and shift the political dynamics in her favor. After all this is the woman who prognosticated about an assisination. Of whom? You can draw your conclusion.

At least according to Politico, she made a conference call and released her delegates last night.

It matters not whether she releases them or not. With her endorsement of Obama and her call to them to vote for Obama. Her delegates are free to do as they please. Some may stick with her to the convention to give her thank you vote at the convention, some will move to Obama between now and Denver and some will move on the first vote. Her delegates do not campaign. What will be important will be Hillary on the campaign trail.

FYI - The Democratic nomination process is not a winner take all process. Did Jerry Brown release his delegates against Bill Clinton? No. Jesse Jackson kept his delegates to the convention and did not even CONCEDE until the convention. Hillary's run an historic campaign and deserves to have her voters (including me) represented at the National convention. You are the one undermining Obama by continuing to rile up hostilities between the Hillary and Obama camps. And your continued insults towards Hillary supporters are part of the problem not the solution. Not helpful or insightful at all.
Can there be an un-recommend added to posts?

I'm with you.

[Ghost that walks] Hillary had a 3am call with Obama last night. I think they're working it out.

That's a smile.

dijamo, you are so right, we all need to discourage discourse. Things are progressing nicely, no more gasoline on a diminishing fire. It still will take all of us.

Discourse is good so long as it's open and honest discourse - not unnecessary divisive attacks. An attempt at discourse does not begin: "Hillary 's Underhanded Design: The Undermining of Obama". That's an attempt at division. How you decry the division in the post talking about Hillary supporters unwilling to support Obama and then encourage it on the other hand by calling them Republicans and continue to insult Hillary for no purpose whatsoever? It is illogical and self-destructive to the democratic party.

I am completely with dijamo.

This serves absolutely no purpose. Yes, there are those who make mischief. Yes, there are those who will vote McCain. That's politics.

Divisiveness, especially at this stage of the game, is vastly more hurtful than helpful.

IT IS TIME TO SUPPORT THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE.

Stop the Hillary hate and discontent. It serves no useful purpose.

Unless, of course, you are one of the people you are writing about.

A FAILURE TO OFFER EVIDENCE MOSTLY DOOMS THIS POST

Because you offer no evidence for your point of view, Thabo, your post is in danger of sounding like a paranoid rant. I'm all ears for whatever evidence you have. Your thesis is interesting and a bit plausible, but not plausible enough to take seriously unless you provide some evidence.

I'm a Hillary hater from before this cycle and you are off base. You are as guilty as anyone of trying to spread rancor within the party.

I have been an Obama supporter forever, but I couldn't have written a nicer concession speach. She has been so gracious and decent since Saturday. Why do you have to go peeing in the cornflakes!!

I have here in my hand a list of two hundred and five...that were known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Communist Party and who nevertheless are still working and shaping the policy of the State Department. Senator Joe McCarthy, speech, Wheeling, West Virginia, Febuary 9, 1950

This election year has been full of surprises and my hunch is it will continue to be very entertaining. Check out todays article in the LA Times "The secret friendship of Hillary Clinton and John McCain"........Hillary as McCains VP would certainly make for a very interesting race.

It is very strange to me why so many people get off into personality worship. I'd like to share this with you FYI. Hillary Clinton is a Democrat only because her husband is. When she met Bill she was a Republican, and she still is. Please put this link into your browser:

Don't be a trick. Hillary herself said that it's not about her. You must use your intelligence so that you can detect the Republican scheme to divide the Democratic party so that this African American cannot possibly win the Presidential election.

Hillary also said that after 8 years of George Bush, do you want for more years of what he has left behind with John McCain. Open your eyes, mam! If you vote for McCain, or continue to back Hillary, and help the Republicans to devisively destroy the Democrats bid to get their candidate elected, which, the last time I checked, was Obama, then you are helping them to put this country into a deeper Depression. Smell the coffee!!!
