Hillary Clinton and the "Activist Base"

Hey remember this lie-filled rant?

“Moveon.org endorsed [Sen. Barack Obama] — which is like a gusher of money that never seems to slow down,” Clinton said to a meeting of donors. “We have been less successful in caucuses because it brings out the activist base of the Democratic Party. MoveOn didn’t even want us to go into Afghanistan. I mean, that’s what we’re dealing with. And you know they turn out in great numbers. And they are very driven by their view of our positions, and it’s primarily national security and foreign policy that drives them. I don’t agree with them. They know I don’t agree with them. So they flood into these caucuses and dominate them and really intimidate people who actually show up to support me.”

Just remember this when/if you even contemplate giving money to $100 Mill Hill  to "retire debt." I'm not telling you to give or not give, but just ask yourself if she really deserves your hard earned money.

There's something personally repugnant to me about someone who is uber-rich begging us pee-ons for money because they didn't make a wise choice in how to invest or spend their money.

"OH poor me. Instead of 100 million dollars, i only have 80 million now! How ever will i survive?!"

Just say no.

Nice work, freaktown — if your goal is to piss off half the party.

yes. i'm just reminding people of something thats been on the record for months, and somehow I'm responsible for pissing off half the party?

I guess hillary clinton bears no responsibility at all for her own words, just like Bill bears no responsibility for the crazy things he says.

I'm just trying to remind people of what Hillary Clinton really thinks about us. And now she's going to have the nerve to ask for money from the same people she slandered?!

She should apologize if she was really interested in "party unity". But i'm not holding my breath for that to happen.

If all ove Hilalry's supporters read your post, yes, you'd be pissing off half the party. Not that you'd be solely responsible for that by any means. I'm just saying, I have enjoyed most of your posts and comments, but at this point, healing can't take place if we continue picking at old wounds. It doesn't help Obama or help us get out of Iraq and into a better future.

Can't quite figure out how I managed to key "ove" for "of" or why I am unable to consistently key Hillary's name correctly.

I don't really get this, Ripper. She spent money that she can easily reemburse out of her own pocket. Why shouldn't we expect her to do so? She ran this campaign into the ground, when her campaign was broke, why should anybody help pay her way out of a failed campaign that she ran to the bitter end, when she can cover it herself?

She's a big girl, she can take it. She and Bill are worth $130,000,000, for Christ's sake.

brant, I don't mean to dismiss freaktown's point, reiterated by you. Yes, I actually agree with you and freaktown about the basic proposition that Hillary can pay her own way. I just think we have other things to think about that aren't so divisive along the exact same Hillary/Obama fault lines. I would rather we give some space to those issues, that's all.
