Evidence Showing Pelosi Must Recuse Herself On Impeachment
Have you wondered why Speaker Pelosi took impeachment "off" the table? She made this decision before conducting any fact finding. Or, so she wants us to believe.
The (apparent) truth is surprising. Information has been developed, and forwarded to Congressman Conyers, strongly suggesting Pelosi knows far more than she's admitting.
This week, Professor Turley accused the Congress of collusion. There's aparently some substance to this allegation.
Apparently, Pelosi was involved with policy making decisions on torture and NSA surveillance. We've also learned Harman knew some things, but didn't say something.
David writes, implicitly suggesting Pelosi must recuse herself:
Pelosi's [alleged] criminal participation and duties can be defined even more clearly, since she participated in discussions of both warrantless surveillance and torture -- Articles 24 and 18 of the Impeachment case.
Said another way, either Pelosi recuses herself and makes way for an impeachment investigation -- which may implicate her as an alleged co-conspirator; or the House must remove Pelosi as Speaker for her alleged ethics breaches and refusal to permit the House to enforce the laws of war through impeachment.
David: "I actually spoke with Chairman Conyers about this today, and he said he understood it and admitted Pelosi's involvement in warrantless surveillance."This may explain the reluctance of the lawyers to support either impeachment of Bush; or removal of Pelosi: They lawyers are connected to both.

You show little regard for other members of the TPMCafé commentariat when you fire off 3 posts in quick succession as you've just done. You and we are smart enough to avoid a tragedy of the commons here, all it takes is a little impulse control.

If we, the people, had come forward en masse and notified Pelosi as well as our other elected officials that we demanded they move forward because we supported the Impeachment process -well, you wouldn't have needed to write this post.
Our elected representatives are not nearly as guilty of malfeasance as we are of ignoring our own responsibilities to ensure a democratic nation.

Spot on Auntie. We get the government we diserve.Fact is If folks would turn off the damn tv and get involved, we could do almost anything;stop the war, demand clean energy, better schools, etc. I bet if in 2000 we would have surrounded the whitehouse with a couple of million people, put up a tent city and refused to leave till all the votes were counted,we could have driven the chimp in chief from office before those neoCon f#cks started slaughtering brown folks and wiping their asses with The Constitution. It worked in Russia, it'l work here. If The People Will Lead The Leaders Will Follow.

Testing, my take on the issue is that, without assuming Pelosi herself is guilty of any of the warrantless surveillance impeachment counts, (and I'm not saying she DIDN'T do that either), she is trying to protect pro-war Democrats from being called to testify by Bush lawyers on the Iraq war impeachment counts.
Because you know Bush lawyers would do that.
