End of an Era
I believe that we are at the end of an era in US politics. Obama and his team has created a new politic and is moving this new thing onto centre stage.
I say it is the end of an era because and not the begining because while the democratic party has begun the process of creating and positioning new and more youthful leadership and key players, the GOP is still stuck with a bunch of old and withered persons seeking to control the play on the field.
I am convinced beyond any shadow of doubt that at the end of the day, Obama will beat McCain based in large part on the acceptance by the electorate of the closure of that old politic that the GOP is hugging so closely.
I think there will be an interesting cross over of GOP members to Obama in the coming months and on the day of the GE. It appears to me that these cross overs will do so not because they adhere to Obama's policies but more because they are simply tired to death of that old style of politics which McCain/Bush and Lieberman are playing.
I am eager to see the polls in the coming months because I believe this new dynamic will start to raise its head in a big way shortly.
To be honest, I believe that those who stay with McCain are those who simply cannot stomach the change, just do not want a black man in the house or are in some form of grave denial.
In the end Barack will win the house because people are just tired of these old men who are clinging to a dead politic while it rots in their faces.
We have moved on... the door is now closed.
