Continuing to exhibit why Congress approval rating sinks to subterranean levels, the Democrats marched in lock step with Bush, handing him $ 400 million to fight a covert war in Iran.  One can only imagine what constitutes a covert war, according to our government.

While I have advocated tough action on Iran, this is yet another example of the complete incompetence in our national leadership, and that absolutely includes Pelosi and Reed. 

First, there is no way you are going to overthrow the government of Iran by covert action.   No tightly-controlled police state has ever been toppled this way.  Apparantly, Bush has never heard of the Prague Spring.  The only thing that will be accomplished by covert is a lot of Sunnis and Kurds will be persecuted by this paranoid regime that will crack down hard on any act of internal dissent.

Overt invasion won't happen either.  Even if we weren't in Iraq, we don't have the troops to occupy a country the size of Iran. 

We are about to spend another $ 400 million we don't have to spend on yet another foreign adventure that has only one obvious conclusion.
