Concession Speech
Yes, I thought I should make one as well. Barack has won the Nomination or.....will once you know what happens. All that is left is for Hillary to take a deep breath and start anew. I'd just ask everyone to give her a little time. She is a fighter and hardheaded. She isn't very good at this. Actually, she never has had to do "this" so I am sure she is trying to find her way.
Will she concede? Surely. Will she push behind Barack? Assuredly. Will her supporters do the same? Yes. Will it always be nice and quiet and fun? No. Will we still complain and ask questions and try to have our way? Yes. Will your argue back? I hope so.....
But this isn't about her it is about me. I wanted to just say it was a great fight and I appreciate everyone on this site. You may not believe it but it is true. If I hurt anyone or said anything that caused anyone harm I do apologize. It was not my intention. As I have said elsewhere I am a terrible loser. I don't do it well. And, when I am equally for something I am either ALL in or not at all.
I, for one will work hard to try and make sure Barack becomes the next President because I do know what is at stake. We cannot allow another Republican to occupy the White House. We must increase majorities in both Houses of Congress. We have to be forceful in our leadership of this country as Democrats. We've let it go to fallow far too long now. We have a History. A great History of Progress and Triumph. We need to reclaim that history once again and rescue this country from the hands that it is in now. We need to do this not just for us but for the World. There are many many things that need to be done. And, President Obama is going to need all the help he can muster. There is plenty for everyone to do. Each of us has a unique role as well. It is really up to us as to how this goes. I hope that everyone will call their local precincts and make sure they become involved in the process. I urge everyone to do what they can.
As well, if you can't be giddy with excitement over what this party has accomplished this year...well you never will be. History....right here..right now.........boggles the mind. Again, you each have every right to be proud of yourselves.
Lastly, I've said it elsewhere but bears repeating. I changed my avatar to Muhammed Ali for a purpose. I hope that we can all reflect on his courage, intelligence, strength, and character in the coming months. He is, to me, the greatest American in my lifetime...maybe forever. He was unselfish in his committments to his beliefs and to his Country. He gave love and expected little in return. He won. He lost. Through it all he was the same Shining person he always was. Even in ill health he is a beacon. Lets remember, fight, fight hard, fight to win, but never give away what we truely hold as our own..Our own beliefs. Again, thanks for allowing me the chance to be a part of this discussion. Now, lets go get BUSH/CHENEY and.....McCain and send them packing!!!!

Nicely put.
Would I have liked to hear Senator Clinton give a stronger message about Obama being the nominee? Yes. However, in the long run I'd much rather hear and read diaries from her supporters like yours.
A concession speech will not win this election. All the democratic voters coming together will.

Awesome post. Highly recommended. I will enjoy discussing all kinds of things over the coming months. While we frequently disagreed, I enjoyed the process of disagreeing. Should be fun to see you turn that pen on new targets!

BREAKING: Concession Speech of Stalwart Clinton Supporter Signals the End of Race
In an eloquent, heartfelt post, one of Hillary Clinton's staunchest supporters at Talking Points Memo, has conceded. Merging the themes of his former champion with those of his new one, the blogger formerly known as Louisville1975, has changed his screenname to Obamawan, selected a Muhammed Ali avatar, and vowed to "work hard" to "make sure Barack becomes the next President." Obama supporters and former opponents enthusiastically welcomed his support, and everyone felt good about themselves and one another.
Glad to be on the same team, Obamawan.

Just an open question. Do any Republicans come into this site or do I have to go other places to seek them out? Still new to all this blog stuff.......

There used to be a few around here. Right now they're hard to find. I'm sure a few will come for the GE campaign.

Perhaps we'll see some when McCain puts a link to it on his website along with the other liberal blogs he is encouraging supporters to visit with talking points.

Chris, thank you for your very gracious post.
"As well, if you can't be giddy with excitement over what this party has accomplished this year...well you never will be."
I am sorry to say that I am disgusted by the behavior of the Democratic party leaders this year and during the past seven years. I pray for someone in Washington to show heart, spirit, and backbone. I am not optimistic.

John McCain did Democrats and Republicans the biggest favor ever by making that god awful speech when Barack Obama was making history. If there was ever any question by Hillary supporters that you might, just might make good on those threats to stay at home or, god forbid, vote for the Republican candidate, he gave the most unifying speech ever. The spectacle of him killing us softly with his words along with the sure bet of a Supreme Court justice who would most assuredly overturn R v. Wade, was hopefully enough to scare the beejesus out of any good Dem.
Nice post.

Mama mia, a mea culpa?
We all look forward to seeing you over on the wingnut blogs, provoking them mercilessly the way you have done to Obama's supporters here. And I mean that with all due disrespect, if you can successfully trash up the Drudge report or Michelle Malkin's dumpster, you qualify as an equal opportunity troll.
Let us know how it goes, OK?
Should be easy enough. Here's a link,
http://networks.feedburner.com/TheConservativeBlogNetwork
when you get to the list, pick one like Little Green Footballs or the ConBlog, and try doing what you've done here, and see how long you last...
You will learn quickly how freedom of speech is truly a realm known only on "liberal" blogs like this one.
Come back now and then and let us know how many fights you get those conservative bloggers into, Cassius.

That he could stand there and not do anything when a supporter said "what are we going to do to stop that bitch".......speaks volumes about the man.

Louisville - If you and Clinton supporters like you are able to bring a 10th of the passion that you had for Clinton's candidacy over to Obama; then we'll be in great shape going into November!
You have been one of my favorite people on this site to debate with and I commend you for your support for the party and our shared cause.

I didn't know this was you Louisville. You fought hard, you fought with honor, and I join you as another proud supporter of Hillary Clinton who understands the importance of electing Senator Obama in November.

I know, kinda sucks that there's nobody to be outraged about, eh? Well, if you're in a nostalgiac mood, head on over to Election Central because there's still plenty of folks who have just had it with Hillary. :)
