Let's hope they all decide to endorse Obama after the big night tomorrow!
I really wish they would come out tomorrow. The Montana polls don't close until 8pm MDT, 10pm on the east coast. If the supers don't endorse before then, we are going to have to wait until Wednesday, and endure two more awkward Obama and Clinton speeches on Tuesday night.
Agreed - I know it's just "form" - but I agree with the blogger here (I now can't find it to give him/her proper credit) that they should declare during the day, so that the states "push" him over the top tomorrow night.
Does the fact that they are meeting mean "a flood"? I would prefer that the pledged delegates put him over the edge but doubt the supers will publicly declare until after the results tomorrow night.
I wish with all my heart that tomorrow Obama is pushed over the 2118 delegate count, but I think the Supers are going to do the right thing by Hillary and let her make her "I'm going to continue fighting" speech that she seems to want to make tomorrow night. Then, on Wednesday and Thursday, they will come out for Obama (and some, no doubt, Hillary, which they have every right to do), and Obama and Hillary will talk at length at some point by Thursday night, and then this should finally get tied up by Friday.
I do not believe Hillary will go on fighting after this week. I think she will see most of the unpledged Supers go Obama's way in the next three days, see the light, and make some sort of concessionary speech by the weekend -- with grace -- and will then take a long-needed and well-deserved rest before going out on the campaign trail for him.
I'm not being facetious, by the way, nor tongue-in-cheek. I think that's the way it will play out, and maybe I'll be wrong, and maybe I'll be right. But I have no doubt that Hillary will concede graciously -- soon -- and won't let this go to the convention.
Unfortunately, the article says they won't do so until after tomorrow's primaries.
Wow, and I didn't even read that yet.
Will they endorse in a flood? We'll see. Will Hillary concede tomorrow night? Maybe not concede, but possibly suspend.
But what is wrong with this picture? This morning she was still defiantly "in it to win it," boasting of popular vote (distortions), claiming greater electability, urging pledged delegates to defect.... and then, this afternoon, she was returning to NY, notifying her staff to submit their travel vouchers, Bill was starting to become misty-eyed by saying "this might be my last day..." blah, blah.
What, then, is the one element that could account for such a massive shift?
Not money -- she's been broke for a while. Nor is it a sudden attack of conscience; we all know better than that. Probably not the Vanity Fair blowback; we know that she knows what the dangers really are vis a vis Bill, and she's been willing to risk it so far.
What, then, could cause such a cosmic shift in just a few hours?
It occurs to me that, just as Edwards appeared at a big rally to endorse Obama in a timely fashion when he needed it, maybe tomorrow night, in St. Paul, is intended to be the Gore endorsement. And that, if Hill & Co. got wind of that, they decided to suspend: a) because Gore creates an unstoppable momentum; and, more important from an ego-driven point of view b) if she concedes or suspends first, she diminishes the meaning of Gore's endorsement, making of it only a rubber stamp, rather than a strong declaration of choice.
Too cynical? Probably, but I will be interested to see if Gore shows up in St. Paul.
Your thoughts?

It's not a shift, it's Hillary Clinton. Sigh...
I wish your words were true. Gore showing up would be too incredible. But let's wake up now.
Just in case, I'll give you an "Amen" and "Hell Yea" if you're right. Promise.

CNN is reporting that most of the Senate SDs who remain undecided will endorse Obama: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/06/02/superdelegates/index.html
