A friend sent me a link to the add for this CNN special Black In America. I am setting the DVR for this one. I do not know how good it will be but it will be worth talking about good or bad. Maybe we can have that converstion that Sen Obama so eloquently asked us to.

I hope everyone watching it watches with an open mind, and an understanding that people are people but some people have not been allowed to be people up until recently, weird, but true.

I ask for enlightenment: what exactly is supposed to be said, or what do people want to hear, from this endlesly requested conversation? What left to be known? The history is clear enough.

Do please also go to Daily Kos and read the most powerful post I've seen, written by an African American grandmother in response to all the FISA recriminations, and who's actually been through the civil rights wars and on the receiving end of real privacy invasions, traumas and God knows what else.
