"A very special journey together"

That, says Hillary Clinton's spokesman on NPR's All Things Considered tonight, is what Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have been on all these many primary months.

"A very special journey together."

Yeah, like the one Martin Sheen took up the river in Apocalypse Now.

Or, suggests DairyStateMom, like the one Jimmy Hoffa took some 35 or so years ago.

What "very special journey" would you compare the primary race to?

Dave Bowman's very special journey with HAL 9000.

The Donner Party's very special journey.

Apollo 13.

Christ's very special journey with Judas.

The Soviet Union's very special journey with Josef Stalin.

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.

The long strange trip it's been.

The "special journey" of a woman and an African American credibly vying for the nomination to run for president, I think, can not be fairly compared to any historic event.

You're right this is historic, but I think we can enjoy a moment of humor. I think (with some certainty) DairyStateDad was being sarcastic...

but your point is very well taken, Chris...

You are right Jade.

Perhaps I was a bit too sensitive having just read this particularly odious "looking in the rear view mirror to pretend to predict the future" (as Joe Klein put it) piece.
