Why has McCain not got any crap for this
McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his "spiritual guide," Rod Parsley, believes America's founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a "false religion." McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church "the Antichrist" and a "false cult.

Well, it was covered back in Feb. when it happened, you know, but Rev. Wright is a Scary BLACK MAN and crazy white preachers get to be political analyst on cable news, so who cares, right?

Why? Because media, including non-corporate media, are having way too much fun covering the Dem primaries.
We should all be hoping they don't end soon, because when they do, it'll be months -- months and months -- of McCain/Obama bashing. And by the time November comes around, Republicans, Independents and Democrats will all be content to throw bus of them under the bus and vote for Nader.

And what about the neocons that originally backed McCain in 2000 over Bush before Cheny-Rumsfeld pulled the necons back, and look how that turned out.
And now neocons are with the McCain campaign again.
"They're baaaaack".

Mostly, My Friends, because the media LOVE McCain for some reason. Must be a fighter pilot thing. Honestly, this issue could be hammered from now until November, and it would have an effect. Also, with McCain's close association with the current resident at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, I'd bet that the Democrat nominee will clobber him.
The energy generated by that nominee's campaign (can you guess who I'm referring to without referring to him?) should run down the tired old act that McCain's campaign actually is, at least if it's played properly.

Bill Moyers said it's because Wright is black. If white ministers say goofy stuff (see Falwell, Robertson, et al.) they are more likely to get a pass from the media.
