Watch for yourself: the ORIGINAL video of Kantor's words—without the libel doctoring it up.

Here is a link to a Youtube clip of the REAL video, added 2 months ago, before the drama started today by yet another jerk trying to play the race card against Clinton.

Watch his lips and listen with your own ears, starting at 4:42. Now compare to what I wrote below. Here is a transcript:

Look at Indiana—wait wait—Look at Indiana... 42-40... It doesn't matter if we win. Those people are shitting..."
He realizes he's on camera, and turns to the cameraperson, and says "Excuse me [something else]". Then, completely aware there's a camera on him, he continues his sentence with Carville:
...in the White House"

How would you like to be...
Then he leans over to George Stephanopolous, and it's not clear what he is saying, but regardless, he is not talking about Indianans at this point, and what he says is shorter than the awful things people say
he is saying.

George nods his head and says "and Texas", so Kantor
moves back and says to Carville "Look at Texas".

The people who have spread this little prank should be ashamed of themselves. This is a completely innocuous video, and I am embarrassed that fellow Democrats on this site would spread this kind of libel, regardless of who started it.

This should be a lesson to anyone who spend time out in the blogosphere. Rumors and pranks abound and you have to be very careful when you impugn or assassinate the character of an individual.

I have little sympathy for the Clinton campaign, and my fondest wish is to see her withdraw from the race next Wednesday. With that said, this was just a stupid prank that many people fell for. Lets hope they learn a much needed lesson.

Mm. It is sad when you have to spend all your day debunking some inane crap, researching and sourcing just to have half the people completely ignore it and go on as programmed anyway and definitely not getting any help from the people you thought were supposed to be on your team.

It is a little reminder to us all, maybe.

I listened to it many times (read: too many times) today and I think he says:

It doesn't matter if we win. Those people have got to be shitting. Oh, excuse me ... White House [meaning: the Bush/Quayle camp, then lowering his voice to Stephanopolous] How would you like to be a worthless white n****r [in reference to Quayle not being able to carry his home state].

That's what I hear.

But who am I going to believe my own lying ears or Mickey Kantor?

Do you think he would say something like that with cameras and microphones all over the place? You're deluding yourself. The level of wrongheadedness on this topic is astounding.

the sad fact is there are way too many witting fools willing to convince themselves, and much, much worse, is possible.

to behave irrationally you need to build yourself up with phoney facts to bolster your inane behavior.

having seen obama begin to come apart at the seams, reliance on urban legend and outright lies are needed to provide sustenance to their tomfoolery

"Worthless white Texans..."

Crank up the volume, put your ear right close to the speaker, close your eyes and listen. "Texans."

Whatever:

That is the doctored audio. Follow the link in this post for the original, where what he says at that point is inaudible. Try to put a little more critical thought into this than "whatever."

This is a celebratory moment. Why would he start cursing out one state, one where they are unexpectedly ahead? The explanation that he is referring to the people in the White House makes much more sense in this context. I don't know anything about the guy, maybe he's prone to making racist comments on camera and has a personal animus toward the people of Indiana that surpasses his enthusiasm for winning presidential elections, but it's probably more sensible to assume that that isn't the case in the absence of any real evidence.
