Two Victories In One Night!!!

Obama in Guam and Cazayoux in LA.  I Feel Good.  It looks like even in the reddest districts in the nation you can hang Rev Wright and Obama arround a candidates neck and he wins.  Woot!  It is a good day to be on the side of Hope and Change!

I said it elsewhere and I'll repeat it here:

Obama is Iron Man and his coat-tails are getting longer every day!

Ok. I'm a total dork but the strongest metal is supposed to be osmium.

He could become the O Man- imagine the superhero possibilities.

Always remember that all politics are local. Is local. Whatever.

Except when it is not.

I'm feeling really good about this victory. Bodes well for the GE.

Didn't the GOP run ads trying to link the LA candidate with Obama/Wright? So, it didn't work?

My theory has been that the whole alleged Wright issue won't work for a McCain/Obama GE because many evangelicals will hear similar things in their own churches. God hates America because of gays, abortionists, etc. 9-11 was God punishing America for women's liberation, gays, abortionists, etc. New Orleans was also God's justice, etc.

Since you are so enthused over Obama's 7 vote victory in Guam I hope you wouldn't be equally dejected if he lost by, say, 7 votes. I mean it wouldn't be all that different. I assume you are aware that there were about 500 "spoiled" ballots, and the matter will be looked into on Monday or Tuesday. The final vote could change. But of course, who knows. Obama's lead could increase. If you're this happy now over just 7 votes, you could end up hysterical.

It is actualy the victory in LA that is the most important. It shows that being associated with Obama is not going to cost candidates an election.

For once Otto F, I agree with you completely.

While I'm glad that the Democrat won the special election in Louisiana, I do have to caution that there was only a 24% turnout and I'm sure the electoral make-up of the district has changed since Katrina.

Because of the advertising which tried to tie the Dem to Obama and Pelosi, the powers-that-be were supposedly watching it as a bellweather for the fall, but I'm not sure how much can be gleaned from such a small sampling of the electorate. So, though I'm glad the Democrat won and that he was able to overcome the "negative" attacks, I'm not sure if we can actually use this information for anything other than the boost that it gives the party ranks in the US House.

Many things are all about perception and this undercuts Clinton's only argument left. You can judge wether it does so by a small or a large margin.
