TPM disses Democrats AND Democracy...

Showdown: Tar Heels v. Hoosiers!

"The Democrats limp into another round of primaries "

Notice that little bit of spin  at Memo, found it quite offensive.
Not sure who writes the ledes for these little spots, but this was very iregular for this site.  Instead of rewriting it again, I'll just post the email I shot back at them when I read that tripe...
"The Democrats limp into another round of primaries."
Three cajones apiece, and they're limp?
Kind of offensive headlining here, guys, I think "surge" would be more appropo, even "head" would have worked, but "limp" betrays a Kucinich/Naderite in your midst.

Certainly couldn't be a Republican...

One of the most dynamic and historic elections in American history, with voter turnout at record levels, not to mention this is one of the defining moments of that process, and you think we're "limping?"

Using a quarter-billon dollar crutch?

A lot of very intelligent, inspired people will take offense at that callous headline that trivializes, emasculates and,  "cripples" what should be respected as an historic moment in our great American story.

I like the way TPM handles the issues. I think "what should be respected as an historic moment in our great American story" sounds hokey.

Couldn't ask for better validation than these two comments from such infamous Cafe bitterheads, paragons of the "protest too much" contigent...

Thanks for supporting me here, whether yourealized it or not..

I think the idea here is that both candidates have beat each other up.

You won't find much support for a continued Primary here...

Obama has won mathmatically, so a continued Primary just hurts him and helps McCain.

(go ahead Hillary supporters, tell me I'm wrong, and that the remaining contests with less votes than the remaining Supers, will somehow decide this debacle).

I understand what you're saying. The candidates HAVE beat each other up. But the headline sucked. As an Obama supporter, I agree with the original post. Part of the reason why the GOP is so easily able to paint us as candy-asses is because, collectively, we so frequently act like it. "Oh, the party is being torn apart." Really? Voter registration is up. Voter turnout is up. Both candidates have eclipsed previous contribution levels. But we're giving the media a perfect narrative: This irrelevant poll, taken months in advance, says that ______'s supporters will vote for McCain if their candidate isn't the nominee. Really? What do three year-olds think about their parents when they don't get cookies and milk after dinner?

And honestly, at this point, I don't care if Hillary stays in the race until Barack's inauguration. This gas tax situation is the jumping of the shark. The Clintons are dead to me. It's like Michael Corleone said to Fredo: I don't know you. You're not my family anymore. Clear it with me in advance if you're coming to our Party Convention, so I can make sure I'm not there.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, SC, but considering the weight of the pendulum that is swinging towards the Dems, is is a bit disingenuous to suggest a family fight has crippled our party, if anything it has grown because of this.

I sincerely believe that even if Hillary's worst turncoats don't vote or vote for MCCain, it will be a big win for the Dems in November. The diffference if the traitors go over to the R's will be whetehre it is a landslide or just a big win.

The populist movement that has tapped Obama as its figurehead is bigger than both parties, fortunately they have chosen a Democrat at the helm, and it the old-line Dems finally realize this, primary season is OVER!

Consider this; if both Hillary and Obama beat McCain, that probably means, in this election, they have him beat almost 2-1 if those two groups join forces.

And even if a third of Hillary's supporters betray the rest of us and vote for McCain, they have him beat by over ten points.

Like I said, we are to the point that the only question left is, will it be a landslide or just a clearly decisive victory for the Dems?

If that constitutes a "limp" then the R's are in a wheelchair.

Or in traction.

IMHO, they are facing a virtual flatline if they don't cut loose of the likes of McCain and Bush.

FWIW, cajones is drawers (like a bureau or dresser). The word you were looking for a cojones.
