The Weekly Standard's Big, Wet Clinton Kiss

The Weekly Standard's Noemie Emery tells why Senator Clinton has been embraced by the right.

It's because she's "tough".  I guess threatening to Obliterate Iran endears one to  the neo-fascists at the Weekly Standard.

Wow. I wonder if this is the kind of thing the superdelegates are responding to. I'm sure Dean's been afraid of just this kind of thing.

What do you think the chances are that Hillary will run as an independent if she loses the nomination? I'm getting a chill as I even think about it.

At this point, she's more likely to steal votes from McCain than from Obama!

Thanks for heating up the link.

I do not think she would run as an independent.

I do not think that the unpledged (super) delegates are the lapping up the Clinton campaign routines.

I've never thought, nor do I now think that Hillary is tough in ways that would make her an inspired leader.

Great article. If it slips off the front page, I hope someone else will post it again.

She might run to the right of McCain, if she makes it to the general election, and get the votes of rebellious conservatives. Or she, Lieberman, and McCain could form a pro-war coalition, with all of them running to pick up the phone when it rings in the small hours.

And this quote from the Corner:

She's entering the culture war as a general. All of this has made her a far more formidable general election candidate. She's fighting the left and she's capturing the center. She's denounced MoveOn.org. She's become the Lieberman of the Democratic Party. The left hates her and treats her like Lieberman. . . . Obama is distancing himself from Wright and Hillary is getting in touch with O'Reilly. The culture war has come to the Democratic Party.

Lots of good stuff in there. It's the Hillary that most of her supporters try to deny, deny, deny.

She might run to the right of McCain, if she makes it to the general election, and get the votes of rebellious conservatives. Or she, Lieberman, and McCain could form a pro-war coalition, with all of them running to pick up the phone when it rings in the small hours.

Straight out of the DLC playbook.
