Good luck and we'll read your stuff over there.

Your and Josh's work on the attorney firings helped change so much in providing real evidence of the widespread malfeasance of the Bush administration..... and will be seen in retrospect as of watershed importance. Thanks, and good luck.

Thanks so much for all your work, Paul. We all owe you (and Josh and the other muckrackers) more than we can ever repay. Good luck, and keep up the good work!

I wrote Josh on the birth of his new baby that as long as people like he and wife are having kids there's hope for this world. Well Paul as long as TPM is turning out writers like you and sending you off to bigger and better things there's hope for American journalism. Good luck and God speed.

To quote a commenter above: "there's a Pulitzer waiting for Paul somewhere in the future."
I'm guessing that the prize awarder will say something like "It's a real shame that this is all we can offer for such an outstanding work... No, wait! Here, take my car keys too."
Thank you.

I see Paul's change of direction as contributing to the overhealth health of American journalism: It's a transfusion of his energy, style, and integrity into yet another ground-breaking journalistic enterprise. (And I have no doubt that TPM with find equally outstanding investigators and writers to step up to the plate.) Good luck and best wishes!

Darn! That should be "overall health". Paul would never have let something like that slip by in his text!

Thank you for working so hard to point out to the Bush Administration that Ethics and Integrity DO matter to the American People...The work on the US Attorney/DOJ scandal was first class and would never have gotten the play it did without you! Not letting go of that story, forced the MSM to finally take a hard look at what was really going on. Thank you.

Thank you Paul, and good luck with your new job. I'm still in shock to see that you are leaving. Josh pulled a Bushie with this - announcing sad news late on Friday. It is sad news too, but in the long run it will, I'm sure, be good news for ProPublica. (One more place to be sure to monitor.)

It's always a good sign when a small start-up outfit can graduate one of their people to other projects. It means the organization hired quality people, and provided them with the challenges they needed to outgrow the startup. It reflects well on the graduate and on the alma mater.

Good luck, Paul. It sounds like a great opportunity for you, but you'll be sorely missed around here.
I doubt that there'll be too many others at Pro Publica who've had a hand in unseating a U.S. Attorney General....
Miss you!
KTHXBY!

May I extend my very best wishes from north of the 49th parallel to Paul for all he and Josh have accomplished.
It may not be immediately apparent but many people in the Rest of the World have been stunned and appalled with what has happened in the US over the past 7 plus years. That period would extend from the criminal theft of the 2000 election, through the horrid 911 attacks, through the subsequent era of aggression and murder, and the liquidation of civil rights in the US.
I think its fair to say that although the past seven years have tested our relationship, it can be renewed given the will. Part of the renewal, an important part, is the righteous ferreting out of political criminality. We all look forward to Nuremburg II.
Sincerely, best regards from this Canadian. We are pulling for you to rectify the situation. The sooner the better my friends and neighbours. Its been an ugly decade and should not soon be repeated.

Paul, I have used your work extensively, as I regularly blog about national security issues. You are one of my primary resources on the "short list of trust-worthies". You can stand shoulder to shoulder with Christy Hardin Smith, emptywheel, and Glenn Greenwald. You can be sure I will follow you to your new gig. Thanks for your contribution to our nation, Paul, as someone else said in this thread.
