Teddy Roosevelt Sayings

Everyone knows "speak softly and carry a bit stick", as people remind me on Hillary's Iran comment, but here are a few others worth noting. (There are more, Google them. Better yet, read his speeches and ideas).
------------------------------------------------------------
Teddy Roosevelt:

"The unforgivable crime is soft hitting. Do not hit at all if it can be avoided; but never hit softly."

"Wars are, of course, as a rule to be avoided; but they are far better than certain kinds of peace. "

"I took the Canal Zone and let Congress debate; and while the debate goes on, the canal does also."

"In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing."

"It behooves every man to remember that the work of the critic is of altogether secondary importance, and that, in the end, progress is accomplished by the man who does things."

"The most successful politician is he who says what everybody is thinking most often and in the loudest voice."

"The pacifist is as surely a traitor to his country and to humanity as is the most brutal wrongdoer."

"The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life. "

When they call the roll in the Senate, the Senators do not know whether to answer "Present" or "Not guilty."

When you are asked if you can do a job, tell 'em, 'Certainly I can!' Then get busy and find out how to do it.

You must be a West Coaster.

Secondly, I'm assuming these quotes are meant to be a positive reflection on Clinton. And I have no doubt that they are to you.

But quotes (and I'm a big quote person) are like music, like art: you interpret them through whatever your existing lens is.

And to me, a lot of them reflect well on Obama.

The "never hit softly" one relates to her obliterate comment (which again was a response to if Iran nuked Israel).

The "present" one I thought would be a bit humorously provoking.

Other than that, they're just nice controversial quotes. Teddy we hardly knew thee. Not sure what's supposed to make me West Coast.

Only because you always post late at night. Or perhaps you are just a night owl.

And I figured that quote was in reference to the obliterate comment...but the part the jumped out at me was, "Do not hit at all if it can be avoided."

Perhaps I live on a different continent? And am also a night owl?

ARGH!

QUOTE TEDDY:

PEE SOFTLY BUT CARRY A BIG DICK!

UP YOUR SAN JUAN HILLARY!

ACQUIRE! MERGE! MARAUD! DILUTE! DILUTE!

ARGH!

I have a sudden craving for a bowl of Capt'n Crunch.

With Crunchberries.

I do fairly well with ignoring trolls, but that guy's really irritating. Maybe it's the CAPS.

I think it's the fake piratespeak.

I'm still trying to figure out the angle. Is s/he for or against Hillary?

lol! I think not all of its jokes are successful.

I think most of its jokes aren't successful.

lol, desidero! You do realize no one's going to get these, though.

Teddy Roosevelt: Wars are, of course, as a rule to be avoided; but they are far better than certain kinds of peace.

Barack Obama: I'm not opposed to all wars. I'm opposed to dumb wars.

Well, you got one thing right about him and Hillary:

TR was a Republican.
