"Sorry" seems to be the toughest word--
One of the more disturbing points about Hillary Clinton's statements Friday to the Argus Ledger - is that when the Senator appeared in front of the vegatable aisle in a local supermarket - she failed to take responisbility for what she herself had said--
1: Why not say - "I was tired and certainly would never wish anything untoward ......."
2: No expression of regret to Sen Obama - a man, a husband and the father of 2 young children
This is all confirmation of how the Hillary (and Bill) Clinton machine thinks - and how they would run the country this time -
The pattern of the Clinton mindset continues today in her Daily News editoral and on Sunday TV pundit land.
This morning Howard Wolfson on "Face the Nation" essentially said this incident Friday was Senator Obama's fault for "fanning the flames"
--
Is there anyone who could possible think talking about "assassination" in any context is something Sen Obama - or his family or his campaign would be happy about?
And made so much worse by the timing - the weekend after Sen Ted Kennedy's grim diagnosis and two weeks before the 40th anniversary of that dark day in LA.
No flame fanning necessary Sir --
----
This incident, in a way, is not unlike Sen Clinton's Iraq war vote which to this day she has never apologized for.
We are ending the second term of a President and a Vice President who cannot admit to a mistake on any level --
This is now a pattern for Senator Clinton and her team
They would rather twist, turn -- and yes, lie and distort - that just say "sorry" and move on
The Clintons learned all the wrong lessons these past eight years --

Why can't we just talk it over

sorry seems to be the hardest word

I think that Obama gets 4-5 superdelegates every day until June 3rd --
That at the May 31st DNC meeting - no final decision is made
And that on June 3rd Montana and SD delegates get him over 2025
Then a flood of superdelegates and then they do whatever for Florida and Michigan--
NO MORE DRAMA
VOTE OBAMA

It is sad.
What causes Clinton to lie, and Wolfson to bluster, so predictably?
Is it because old habits, even bad ones, die hard? So that the people who felt entitled to construct (and administer, and grade) the "experience" test, the "commander-in-chief" test, and the "ready-on-day-one" test still feel entitled to define and characterize the "acceptable response" test?
Or, is that, out of resources and really out of time, they are frantically thumbing through their well-worn copy of the Rove playbook?
Ah, yes, here it is:
"Never, ever apologize, for to apologize is to admit error. You do not err; you are always right. Therefore, distract the peasants and the pundits by projection -- accuse your opponent of doing what you yourself have done, or are doing."
Are these the people we want running the White House? If so, who gets the Oval Office? Hillary? Bill? or Rove?

Seriously, are we to give this woman a pass for every "beyond the pale" (Rep. Clyburn) remark she utters because "she was tired?"
Do you want someone in the White House who get tired and says "the dumbest things" (Rep. Rangel)?
Do you want to entrust the safety of the nation in the hands of someone who -- when "tired" -- is unpredictable?
Or someone who has premonitions (March 6, anyone?) or hallucinations (sniper-fire)?

Am I the only one old enough to remember "Love Story"? Love, means never having to say you are sorry. And God knows Hillary knows her ladies love her...
