While Hillary is acting the demagogue, there are other reasons that Barack Obama is the better candidate in spite of Paul Krugman's not approving of his lack of a mandate in his health insurance plan.  Today, David Brooks pointed out that Obama was a conversationalist and a community organizer.  He will, I think, help and encourage people to look for local solutions to economic and social problems.  This is what we need desperately.  Hillary thinks of Washington as the Solver.  In this age of energy crisis and environmental crisis and global warming and an increasing gap between rich and everyone else and lack of worthwhile jobs and communities, we need to develop strong local communities and economies.  This sounds Republican to some, but it's not.  It's the way we have to go.  I would recommend everyone read Bill McKibben's Deep Economy, in Holt paperback.  This is something Obama could understand.  Hillary has shown no awareness really of anything communities can and probably should do for themselves.
