Serious Issues Ahead
There are serious issues at stake in this election, and serious differences between the candidates. And we will argue about them, as we should. But it should remain an argument among friends; each of us struggling to hear our conscience, and heed its demands; each of us, despite our differences, united in our great cause, and respectful of the goodness in each other.
I look forward to engaging in serious discussions with you all.
You may ask why am I supporting John McCain. Well, John McCain will put the national interest ahead of partisanship, he will work with anyone who sincerely wants to get this country moving again. If John McCain is elected President, the era of the permanent campaign will end. The era of problem solving will begin.

On which issues do you believe he will be putting national interest ahead of partisanship?

Well I suppose this is one point of view.

Good. Let's have some more GOP members at TPM. It'll keep the discussion interesting.

Agreed.

Absolutely, except that I think that someone proclaiming to be a McCain supporter whose user name is "My Friends" might just be being snarky. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

". . . . John McCain will put the national interest ahead of partisanship, he will work with anyone who sincerely wants to get this country moving again. If John McCain is elected President, the era of the permanent campaign will end. The era of problem solving will begin."
He's never done that before now. So what makes you "think" that now that he's set in his ways as an over-the-hill has-been fogey, he can change from that he has been: party-before-country, and party-before-country, when he's not been party-before-country.
Torture is a war rime. He supports and deends it. The invasion of Iraq was illega, and a crime against humanity. He defended, defends, and supports that crime.
The ongoin ocupation of Iraq, presmised upon the illegal invasion, is also illegal. McCain defends and supports that.
So: you want four more years of war crimes? That's how to "get the country moving again"?
The only way to "get the country moving again" -- which is the wrong thing to do when it's going in the wrong direction: torture and other war crimes, crimes against hmanity, illegal spying on American citizens -- is to throw the entire fascist/white supremacist party under a bus with steel tires which have psikes sticking out of them.
McCain and his cesspool of a party needs either to be imprisoned or deported. They have and continue to disgrace the country, and all they promise is more of the same.

Whoa there with the credulity. This:
"You may ask why am I supporting John McCain. Well, John McCain will put the national interest ahead of partisanship, he will work with anyone who sincerely wants to get this country moving again. If John McCain is elected President, the era of the permanent campaign will end. The era of problem solving will begin."
is verbatim off the John McCain website, from the section that provides blog-ready talking points. There's a post about the tactic somewhere else on TPM.
Snarky, or hamfisted? Your call.

Good catch. Went there myself and sure enough:
"John McCain will put the national interest ahead of partisanship, he will work with anyone who sincerely wants to get this country moving again. If John McCain is elected President, the era of the permanent campaign will end. The era of problem solving will begin."
Fucking unoriginal hacks. The least a good propagandist can do is sound sincere.
Apparently, this is a McCainbot scooped into disseminating their talking points for "points"--awarded presumably towards campaign accessories. In the words of IDIOTIC: "THIS IS GREAT NEWS. FOR HILLARY!"
It really does highlight the desperation of the right wing this season. It was bound to happen that when the economy took a dump for the massive influx of war money, their political chickens would come home to roost. For the first time in almost a decade, I feel very optimistic, (but not overly-confident), in the Democrats' chances at effecting real change.
And again, Great Catch!

Thank you for contacting TrollCritic 3000 - a division of the TrollCritic 3000 Foundation.
As we have not received an official McCain 2008 Trolling Pro/Am Tournament scoresheet, I cannot provide your estimated Action Points scale. As soon as we receive one of the official scoresheets I'll pop back and let you know how many Action Points I'm guessing you'll get for this performance. It doesn't quite mesh with my current TrollTracker 9000 scoresheet, so I'm afraid I'm unable to rate your performance at this time using either metric.
I might suppose - just to guess, mind you - that since you covered both of today's Talking Point Handicap issues in a single post, that this post will likely yield more points than your similar in-thread performances. Of course Your Mileage May Vary, My Friend.

No worries. But please take note -- there has been a rogue My Friends running a muck over there.
As you see from my true posts, despite our differences, I recognize that our cause is united, and have aimed to be truly respectful of the goodness in us all.
All Hillary supporters should really look into this grass-roots movement taking form. Don't let them silence you.
