Secret Service Supervisors Caught Joking About Jesse Jackson Being Assassinated

The NYTimes is reporting that numerous racially hostile emails have been discovered circulating between supervisors in the Secret Service. The documents have emerged as part of a 8yr old discrimination lawsuit filed by African American agents who claim to have been passed over for promotions. One of the emails jokes about a plane in which Jesse Jackson is in being hit by a missile.

I hadn't thought of it, but in the '93 lawsuit that some African-American Secret Service agents filed against Denny's, the manager's "excuse" was that they were in a party of 21 agents and the litigating agent's meals were delayed because they were the last seated and were at a separate table. So, maybe there has been a pattern of discrimination, all along.

Good link. Thanks

Wasn't it reported on TPM a few weeks ago that the Secret Service agents responsible for protecting Barack Obama stopped checking attendees at a large rally because the crowd seemed "friendly"? If I remember correctly, Senator Obama received Secret Service protection earlier than any other presidential candidate due to the multiple personal threats made against him and his family.

Unlike the Bush/Chney rallies where wearing a t-shirt could get you ejected if its sentiment was counter to the adulation expected of the crowd.
