Please, help: In search for the better pro-Clinton sites

There can be little doubt that the comments at this site are predominantly disappointed in, if not averse against, HRC.

Where does one go to see the other side of the coin?
Where do the wittiest and most intelligent Clinton activists flock?

p.s.

I intended this to be posted to Election Central, not to the Cafe, and I appologize to any reader if I didn't succeed to do this, and my question seems out-of-limits for a Cafe post.

Greetings!

I know it must be strange being a Clinton supporter amongst so many Obama supporters. I don't know you, but I hope you don't leave.

In any case, I have always appreciated Salon -- it has tended to be pro-Clinton this cycle, though the letters sections have the usual disagreements. Some of the Obama supporters might drive you nuts if you tend do be passionate about all of this, as I am. (I have actually left Salon for a while because I can't tolerate its Clinton bias. Ultimately my fault -- not theirs.)

I've also heard the Taylor Marsh and something called my DD (I'm relatively new to the blogosphere) are Clinton friendly. However, I think Joan Walsh at Salon offers sound reasoning and the magazine in general has outstanding articles. (Glenn Greenwald's blog is excellent; generally he doesn't reference the election at all.)

I'm sad, though, that you consider leaving TPM. A suggestion: check in to read the posts/articles that have nothing to do with the election. They tend to be the best, anyway.

Peace,

Laura

Thanks, Laura!
Many thanks!

...But don't count me in as a supporter of either of those two, please!
:-)

The executive branch is important, no doubt, but personally I'm a lot more interested in policies than in personalities.

I don't think the issue is the lack of good Clinton sites. Speaking as a former Clinton supporter, there really has been a change in her and her campaign over the past few months. The level of distortion of reality grows almost by the day (a polite way of saying "lies"). The lack of sites correlates with how indefensible her behavior has become for ever more people.

It must be personally very hard for Hillary, to have come so close to winning the Presidency, to have been the odds-on favorite for so many years, only to see a young upstart appear out of nowhere and snatch it from her with a devilishly clever primary strategy. But the way she is acting out her disappointment is awful - truly, can any reasonable person disagree with that?

Further, I think there would be an enormous amount of sympathy for her, if she were showing more grace as she loses. It really is a sad spectacle.

Hear, hear. I wonder if there's a site with this kind of advice for Hillary? It'd have to be moderated; otherwise Hillary wouldn't be able to find the pleas for civility among the thorns.

Good Clinton sites. Lately this almost sounds like a oxymoron.

MyDD has it's moments, but the comments quickly turn in to rants from both sides. My Mommy can beat your Daddy and visa versa type of stuff.

However there are some good Diary writers and like everywhere some that just make arguments that lack any measure of reasonableness and are just more about how much they dislike Obama.

Taylor Marsh or No Quarter are both Hillary sites, but the level of hate towards Obama on these sites, puts them way out on the lunatic fringe.

Disclaimer: These are the opinions of this writer and in no way reflect or represent the opinions of TPM management, it's staff or the inhabitants of TPM

And where does the level of hate for Clinton at this site put it?

Enthusiastic Losers = Lunatic fringe
Enthusiastic winners = Dedicated supporters

To the victors go the spoils.

For some background you probably won't see in the press or most blogs, check out thehillaryiknow.com even though it's put together by the campaign.

mydd.com is one place where Hillary supporters can post without absurd hostility.

Shakesville is frequently symathetic because of the various sexism that appears often in the debate. Digby doesn't specifically support Hillary, but again she's strong on the sexism issue and just writes very insightful stuff.

I've found the best Hillary site is oppsIdiditagain.com

It's a site that outlines Hillary's "gaffes" then posts her non apologies.

I'mreadyformycloseupMr.Deville.com

shows Hillary as we never knew her. Or wanted to.

Youandyourlittledogtoo.com

shows Hillary's strength during the election process.

Don't forget pleaseaccepttheseturdblossomsandexcusemystupidity.com. I't your home url.

What I've been discovering is that there is a large group of mostly women who see sexism around every corner and in every comment made by someone not female, or someone not a Clinton supporter. So an even-tempered, realistic, good willed Clinton blog is pretty hard to find at this point. It's more like which is the worse Clinton blog than which is the best.

Taylor Marsh is really brutal. But she's less so on the RFK issue than much I've seen.

Try this link and follow the one to Taylor Marsh in it.

HTH!

"And where does the level of hate for Clinton at this site put it?"

Nowhere near the inbred hate of Taylor Marsh or that smear merchant Larry Johnson - I can tell you that much.

Other Hillary Clinton sites:

Justwords.com

Hillary policy and issue papers

Ifyou don't likeit don't voteforme.org

Quotes from townhall meetings.

Whatmeworry?.com

WFT?.com

Honestly, I think it's sad that Hillary's supporters chose to start their own sites, rather than stay and debate this on all the normal left-leaning blogs. I heard there was a mass exodus from Daily Kos by Hillary supporters. Some went to Taylor Marsh's site as people have suggested. But Taylor Marsh strikes me as an "irrational" Hillary supporter -- meaning, one of those who accuses any woman who is not supporting Hillary of being a traitor and a sell out.

Another site is TalkLeft.com. But I don't find it very intelligent either. It's more like a support group for women who feel victimized and abused by the alleged victimization and abuse their candidate has suffered during this election. I wanted to keep a dialogue going with Hillary supporters, given that they are members of the same party as me. But I've given up.

Don't go on MyDD. I know a guy who strictly corrected factual errors, and they banned him. That's right: MyDD bans fact-checkers.

If you want to go to a place where Hillary makes Mother Theressa seem like a slut- I know a couple.

Otherwise, the series of tubes called the Internets don't host Hillary kindly.

As long as we're pluggin' (or dissin') sites, here's my list:

http://digbysblog.blogspot.com/

Caveat: in dire need of an assignment desk.

http://www.openleft.com/

Caveat: Chris Bowers rocks. Every other poster at that site ... not so much.

http://www.talkleft.com/

Serious Hillary love goin' on here. I only keep checking in because Jeralyn impressed me when she upfront said she wasn't onboard with the Ayers smear. My take is that it's been downhill since then, but you might disagree.

http://www.reachm.com/amstreet/

OK, so American Street isn't exactly a pro-Hillary site. This is just a gratuitous plug for Kevin Hayden. I think Kevin's writing rocks. As does that of Oliver Willis ( www.oliverwillis.com ) ... and since I've already strayed so far from my original intent of providing a sincere reply to your question, I might as well plug The Jed Report ( www.jedreport.com ).
