To me it makes sense.
My preference order of remaining candidates:
obama
paul
generic green
generic reform
generic libertarian
clinton
mccain
other generic 3rd party

I don't know much about Paul, but I get the idea that he has a reputation as an honest, principled politician.

He likes Obama's foreign policy better than McCain's or Hillary's...

-"Don't you want a Republican elected?"
-"Well, that's secondary to wanting the Constitution defended and wanting the country go in the right direction, bringing peace around the world(...) That's more important that just having a Republican..."

His endorsement (once he quits the race) couldn't hurt Obama.

mr. Paul is for a flat income tax of 0% for everyone and a national sales tax. That means a rich person can save and never spend 99% of the money they make and thereby never get taxed for it and people that have no money could end up paying taxes on about it all when they never would have had to before.

I can't support that tax idea.

I still think that Paul endorsing Obama would make many Republicans look Obama's way and consider.
