Obamabots Are Filth

For most of this election cycle I've been convinced that the average Obamabot was a mindless lemming, blindly following an empty-suited avatar of "change". I've also thought they are an extremely nasty lot, practicing the worst sort of "Do as I say, not as I do" hypocrisy.

Now, however, comes this: http://bp2.blogger.com/_VSjdKAQpeMw/SDif8np2tWI/AAAAAAAACVM/erG1SQiIGBI/S249/untitled.bmp

That gargage comes from the charmingly named website, "The Field Negro" (http://field-negro.blogspot.com/).

Filth. Absolute, utter, mindless filth. And these idiots don't have the sense to understand the stupidity of bringing this kind of racist shit into their camp.

Congratulations, 'bots. Your Dear Leader certainly is the candidate of "change" isn't he?

It's DNC Rules & ByLaws Committee day. Let's get along! :)

I realized this spring that most of Hillary's rabid online supporters are f'loons.

Oh.

READERS. You might want to ignore the rant of the poster, and check out the link for the picture and the blog. The controversy about the picture and the site is what 's interesting here in my opinion.

http://field-negro.blogspot.com/

Not very attractive stuff and no reason to tie it to Obama supports which is just stupid. But what about the site and the picture?
Is it just racism or is there more?

As an Obama supporter I have to agree, absolutely disgusting and indefensible.

All the Obama supporters I know would never defend or accept this type of picture or posting.

I have forwarded to the Obama campaign so they get the blog owner to hopefully remove. This type of thing does nobody any good.

avatar

I'm sorry but I'm also an Obama supporter and will not take ownership of that site. Nor will I apologize for it. I don't know the blog owner. Why are Obama supporterS being tied to this? I'm really curious about that.

Field is not an Obama supporter. Go police h44 they could use your help since you are such a good sniffer of filth.

So you're going to attribute to all Obama supporters the sick action of some jerk with a blog?

Such is just bout as stupid as the stupid comments about Floridians in the post above yours.

If the crowd fits...

The most vile and disgusting thing about the picture is the lynching. That Hillary and Bill are superimposed in the crowd is simply a sarcastic recognition of their willingness, this election cycle, to firmly embrace those voting against Obama because of his race, and indeed, their attempt to enthrone those voters as the most important segment of the democratic party.

Oh, I'm sorry, we aren't supposed to notice that Hillary does tremendously better in areas with a long history of racism and on-going klan gatherings than she does in areas with the same racial and economic demographics but no active Klan.

And of course she can't control who votes for her and supports her. But she's embraced these folks as the voters who the rest of us should look to in deciding our nominee. And in doing so, and supplementing it with the various race-baiting throughout the campaign by Bill and surrogates, she and Bill have earned the honor of being photo-shopped in the manner shown in the picture. Which is, after all, a parody.

So cry all you want about the vile and filth. You know this is just another reason for you to call Obama supporters names. It's all you ever do in any of your posts. My guess is you are one of those who has probably purchased one of the O-bama as Chimps t-shirts.

Well said, "Factsaregood."

I hope this is over except for the race with McCain next week. I know Obama is already in general election mode; but HRC is making it hard on him without any reason to do so.

(Flames will follow.)

Facts would be good here but you are just distorting them to justify your hate. The part of the country where most lynching occurred has gone Obama with the help but not exclusively from the AA vote. This picture goes to the heart of the Obama campaign against the Clintons, painting them as closet racists who will do any despicable thing to further their rule-the-world ambitions.

Of course, the racial aspect of the whole campaign and of “Appalachian” voters in particular has been exaggerated for political effect. Most people don’t believe that it is okay to spew anti-white hatred any more than racism or hatred towards any group is acceptable. Regardless, this is beyond the pale and to endorse a smear of the Clintons, a democratic President and Senator who have done so much good for this country (and, yes, for the black community), only reflects on you.

I understand the smears and revisionism that paints Clinton as a lying, cheating, conniving witch are only part of a campaign to get Obama elected but that doesn’t excuse the character assassination. And race relations are being further divided by this campaign despite any Speeches. The racism and hate from this kind of stuff or Wright or the Pfleger remarks, getting laughs and amens and whispered support from Obama followers, trickles out and is perceived by those lowly ”low-info” voters who make up this country for what it is- hypocritical, divisive, superior and vile.

All Obama supporters are responsible for every individual on the planet who supports Obama. If one screws up, we are all painted with the brush of his sins....

No. This is retarded.

avatar
And these idiots don't have the sense to understand the stupidity of bringing this kind of racist shit into their camp.

ZzzZZzzzzzzz * hrg! Oh, I'm sorry, I dozed off for a moment.

Now, what was that about "hard-working white Americans"?

I make a respectful suggestion. You need not go to every site on the net to dig through something to make a political point.
The net is a free-for-all for real political action-- sometimes provocative and sometimes silly-- but with a myriad of styles meant for various types of readers. If I went to a KKK site and dug up something against Obama, what would that show?

But this is not a racist site. This site can only be understood-- in my opinion--from the kind of attitude about symbols, pictures and words made clear in the films of Spike Lee, especially "Bamboozled."

avatar

Give me a break. You sound like Bill O'Reilly complaining about Kos.

Catchy title, Hillary.

avatar

Your argument is exactly the same as this one:

Eastwest commits the most obvious logical fallacies.
Eastwest is a Clinton supporter.
All Clinton supporters are fallacious reasoners.

The difference is that my sample argument happens to have a true conclusion.

Troll thread is successful.

Point taken. By-eee!

What Facts are Good said.

Give me a break. You sound like Bill O'Reilly complaining about Kos.

Exactly. Some guy has a blog about the issues surrounding being black (or brown or tan or whatever) and this is a personal affront?

Did you miss this:

***The views expressed on this site are the fields and the fields alone. They do not reflect the views of my employer, or any professional or legal organization of which I am affiliated.***

It's right up at the top.

It's a personal blog. Get over it.

Wow, sanity. One doesn't run into it that often.

Certainly not as a comment to a completely insane post.

No apparently a white man's opinion is his own opinion, Black man always talks for his entire race- that's what this eastwest idiot means.

Thanks for the stupidest post I've read all year.

avatar

Don't feed the troll, kids.

13 recommends? What the flock? The troll must be going back and re-recommending its own post. Vile thing.

No kidding. How does asinine bullshit like this end up on the recommended list? Multiple accounts, perhaps?

I thinks there be trool fans here 'bouts.

Trool, troll it is all the same for us non-typers.

What's with you guys? Do you think the ten (at least) posters here who thought about this and considered the picture important to discuss are just idiots?

Shame on you. Stop disrespecting people not in your clique.

avatar

You first. We are not filth. We call out dishonesty, which is why we stop calling out neither Bush nor Clinton.

avatar

We'll stop for Clinton on the same grounds that we'll stop for Bush: when they stop giving us stuff to call them out for.

Hey. I don't agree with the poster. But it refers to a site and a picture that have a greater meaning for a discussion. You have to read the post and follow the link to make a comment, not just complain about why people are interested in it or reduce it to Hillary vs. Obama. Come on. The more you try and tell people what NOT to read, you may scare them off from commenting, but not recommending.

Look at the site. Look at the picture. That would be the intelligent thing to do. It happens to be an important issue.

This post is a (suposed Clinton) troll linking to a picture made by a (sposed Obama) troll and the ascribing the behavior of that troll to the entire community of Obama supporters. That is not a bassis for discussion.

Filth?
Go visit Taylor Marsh, Larry Johnson or Hillaryis44.
Then tell me the stench doesn't exist among "Hillbots."

I don't know about you guys, but after I've recommended a post, leave it, and then come back later, the recommend button is red again and I can recommend again. Even with my own posts. I resist the urge, but am I the only one who gets this?

If not, it sucks, because anyone like this troll with an evil agenda can keep their post on the list forever, right?

I tried it to see if it works and if you hit recomend the relaod the page again the number goes back down. You can test it on a post that you know no one will be recomeding, like one of your month old ones.

That's a relief! Still, why does this guy have 24 recommends? I guess all the Hillarites must be hitting the button.

I just want to let everybody know, for historical reference, that May 31 was the day a dam break sent a 60-foot wall of water over the town of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, killing over 2,200 people.

I just automatically think of May 31 as Johnstown Flood Day, in case that ever pops up in conversation and it seems inexplicable or inappropriate to you.

That's just how I remember it's May 31.

So don't freak out or make a big deal out of it if I bring it up.

...That Hillary and Bill are superimposed in the crowd is simply a sarcastic recognition of their willingness, this election cycle, to firmly embrace those voting against Obama because of his race, and indeed, their attempt to enthrone those voters as the most important segment of the democratic party....

In other words, you condone this garbage. Like I said: Mindless filth.

Mindless, hypocritical filth.

EastWest: please get a grip.

Act like a rabid mongrel dog

Be put down like one bitch

Parasites on the Party
Political trailer trash from East to West

Yes, I'm filthy, filthy, nothing but filth. Filth, filth, filth. And more filth on that. So much filth. Filth all about. Filth, filth, filth.

Broken records unite!

You're right -- it is filth. Now, I'm not saying two wrongs make a right, but you have absolutely no idea of some of the photos I've seen with Obama in them. Dozens and dozens. This is the first I've seen with the Clintons like this. And no, it's not pretty. The other photos I'm talking about, I won't even provide links as I don't want them circulating any farther than they already are. What you're feeling at seeing this photo is what I felt many times over the past several months as I saw more and more of the same type of photo directed at Obama. So, you're not alone in your outrage. Neither candidate should be the subject of such photos.

Yes, this reminds me of the other day when I was compared to the psychos who murdered James Byrd, because I'm from Texas, too.

This is the bullshit - all this stupidity about what is said online and all this guilt by association. And it's anti-American.

And to think I used to like you, you, you, you filthy Texan. Dubya's from Texas! Kennedy was killed in Texas! Worst of all the Dallas Cowboys are from Texas!

Slime. That's what you are.

ON NOTICE

No more Mister Nice Guy

Time to finish the job
Time to clean out all the Clinton trailer trash

That is quite a rakish moustache he's got going on.

So your filth in this post makes it even, doesn't it?

Last word on this post - way to make an ass of yourself, EastWest.

But what do you think about the picture? What do you think asbout the site?

avatar

Who cares. The premise of this post is that people reacting to Clinton's behavior makes all Obama supporters filth.
Were the behavior of some supporters synonymous with all supporters, then all Clinton supporters would be racist, judging by exit polls from WV and KY.

Absolutely nothing - which is what it deserves.

Take the time to read the post below by Robster, thanks.

avatar

Gosh, I watched that Rules committee hearing and all I saw from the outside, where the Hillary "supporters" were fawning all over that bigoted piece of trash, who claims to have evidence of TERRIBLE Obama wrongdoing, but could not pass ANY of a lie detector test...these are the same people who chanted during the hearing and if that isn't enough, screamed something about lipstick on a pig when one of the members defended her vote.

Gosh, I wonder who has behaved in a deplorable manner today....the racial bigots outside and inside the arena, or the well behaved and controlled Obama supporters.

Truth is, directionless human, we don't need your vote. We are not going to get it, because you are a racist or something else equally awful. Scurry on over to the McCain camp. They welcome your type with open arms...oh and good luck with all your civil and personal rights.

It's nice to see that there's at least one other "Obamanoid" who isn't going to go all weak in the knees when it comes to dealing with the Clinton infection

STOP telling people when the "last word" on the post. You are such control freaks. People will stop when they stop.

Calm down, Tallulah - sometimes they mean their own "last words" which sometimes they have to eventually take back, too.

You aren't the subject of every post, love.

Tena, You're talking to a flippin' picture as if it were something real. There were ideas to talk about here, and not to be silenced
by the regulars. It's a grand pain in the ass for the regulars at this site to dictate what gets talked about and what is ready to be dumped on. If you think I'm here on this particular post with any other purpose than the ideas, you're wrong. This is not a post about cats and mice, or other TPM chit chat but a rather serious issue. One expects a lot more from you on something like this.

avatar

Thanks for that Lux, that's a great article. But does it make you a reverse racist for posting the link to it??

Autopsy: The Clintons

Chuck Todd on MSNBC:

You know, there is a big thing we should be getting out of this party tonight, and that is the Democratic National Committee is not somehow controlled by the Clintons. Not by the Clinton campaign any more. We may have started this campaign believing that the Clinton campaign controlled, but this is Barack Obama's party now. He's already been winning the outside game, he now won the inside game. Yes it's true that Harold Ickes can threaten this stuff about the credentials, but Don Fowler really did signal today by being for the Michigan compromise that, "Guys, it's over."
avatar

Deear Bogger,
You've got fake hutzpah. I love it. It weren't for fakery, they'red be no hutzpah at all. You just haaaavennn't tuned into the guy. I've lived with him and had sex with him. He's everything he says he is. I'm the ultimate authority. Stop blogging. You are too abstract.

avatar

Well, if you wanna see an embarrassing display of something awful, just tune into any coverage of the Hillary Clinton protestors outside the RBC Meeting, or look at footage of the meeting itself.

Whackos. Nuts. Racists. Rapid sexists (what do you call the female equivilant of misogyny?).

Please, don't throw stones.

Since Dunkin Donuts pulled a Rachel Ray ad because she wore a "terrorist's" scarf, and EastWest feels that all Obama supporters should have to be held accountable for someone named The Field Negro, Will EastWest apologize to us for the following blogger's post?

Isn't that charming - and here so many times I've been accused of not being a lady because of my language. These bitches are popping caps in effigies and pretending it's Obama.

Just charming.

avatar

You don't understand it's OK if Clinton (or a supporter) do it.

avatar

As an Obama supporter I don't give a damn...This is internet trash; it's meaningless. That it would even be worth commenting on gives me pause.
Folks! It's the internet! Exactly what are we expecting?
How could this guy (or any other jerk-off out there in cyberspace)who no one even knows affect your opinions about anything?
Let's put things in perpsective...there are a lot of people (millions-upon-millions-upon-millions)who have access to the 'net. And a lot of those people hold views that are...um...a bit further off the beaten path...you know?
When all is said and done, we just learned of a guy - that holds these views.
Goes for about 90-something-percent of everything out here...

avatar

Obamabots is simply a Republican Troll way of demeaning and dehumanizing people who support Obama, as if we really don't have any brains, but the truth is clear that most people who support Obama do so for very good reasons. I remember JFK, and not until now am I reminded of him in a candidate who has vision, charisma and grace under fire. He is a statesman, something rare in this day and age, and I support him with my eyes (and my mind) wide open.

Labels can stick and can damage (think swiftboat, flip-flop), but they are the tools of children and adolescents. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a leader who acts like an adult and treats other people as adults? And when they act like children, help educate them.

And finally, guilt by association has worked in the past, but I don't think it's going to stick this time. The dirty tricks are losing their luster after eight years of misinformation, lies and disaster, to name just a few of the words that come instantly to mind, and we're ready for truth and substance. Obama understands that clearly, and anyone who has read The Audacity of Hope knows that he clearly and completely understands the history of politics in this country and is prepared to lead. If you haven't read the book, do so. And he wrote it, not some ghostwriter. He's the real deal.

avatar

I devote just as much worry to losing the support of Clinton supporters for calling Clinton out as I do Bush supporters for calling out Bush: none. You can call me an Obamabot all you like, but that doesn't make it true, as in is an a priori attack with no basis.

avatar

LOL. It was a joke, a tasteless one, but a joke regardless. Kind of like the Monkey Obama shirts, yeah, kind of like that.

Can someone please explain to me how a blog like this gets escalated... I appreciate the person who reported it to the Obama campaign so that they could remove. I'm not going to look because I trust that it's inappropriate and offensive. Clearly it is unrealistic to try to monitor the entire blogosphere... this is the downside of freedom of speech I am willing to endure. But please note... I have compassion and care about everyone including Hillary's supporters. I would not be able to accept Hillary as a nominee and would hate to be in their shoes. So I feel for all of you... I say do whatever is in your heart and is in alignment with your values and ethics. That's what I would have to do.

In a world in which people are killed every day over fanatic's use words, we expect our candidates for president to use them carefully. The Clintons have not.

This was a protest about Clinton's poor use of words in relationship to a black candidate. One person's "racism" is another's protest. Ask Spike Lee.

America has a violent past against its minority population. We didn't need Hillary Clinton to remind us of it.

Wanna know why you're kinda dumb? If you knew anything about The Field Negro, you'd know that he isn't firmly behind Obama. In fact, he mocks people who are pro-Obama.

See answer below. Sorry, it ended up in the wrong place.

I'm interested in what you think just about the picture. Does it make a political point for you? Do you think it's in bad taste?

TPM, don't recommend posts with titles that are abusive please.

The abuse that goes on at TPM is legendary and it takes many forms. That said, it was in mind a poor title an a poor post. But there was something in it interesting and controversial, meant so to trigger discussion about race.

Simply telling another person that they are "kinda dumb" isn't the best way for me to carry on a conversation. People have different reactions to the site which I take as skilled satire. The links on his site suggest a rather smart person with serious political goals. That's my opinion.

Oh, golly.

And oh shucks, and ain't that a bitch.

Boy, you're mad.

I'm mad because of I thought there was something important here to discuss and first too many people tried to lose it down. This is the was that a number of regulars control who posts here. It's an old story, isn't it. Second, I was surprised by the utter lack of willingness to address the issue beyond the old Obama/Clinton--and the inability to think. I started out interested in what people though, having expressed my own ideas in a respectful way.

Why would people be obsessed with why others recommend a post when the are highly recommended posts which have only a few comments. This points to a weird sense of control that TPM belongs to these regulars, an attitude not lost on many would-be contributers. And to come on on a discussion with "oh, golly, after its done. Yes, I get what that means having seen it before. The snide remark after the discussion is over isn't necessary and speaks to something petty.

avatar

Would anyone in their right mind take the shit on that web site serious? And how would that relate to the campaign of Obama? This got to have been put up by some hard-"working", white, racist Republican. Maybe Karl Rove has been moonlighting anonymously?

avatar

I comment regularly at Field's blog and I have to make two things crystal clear to y'all.

One, he is NOT an Obama supporter. He has stated that fact in several blog posts over the past three months. No matter how hard we try to push him off the ledge, he's not quite sold on Obama.

Two, he did NOT create that photoshopped image and it never appeared in his sidebar until well after Hillary made her "hard working, white Americans" comment and after *I* and others pointed out to him some of the most vile, racist comments at Taylor Marsh, No Quarter and HillaryIs44.

Personally, I don't care what you think but if you want to smear someone, then get your facts straight before you start popping off.

Scum.

Bullies in a schoolyard. No thought, just showing off for the mob.

avatar

I'm an Obama supporter and a fan of the Clinton's. This picture is ridiculous and I don't know a single Obama supporter who would condone this image.

avatar

stop falling for this shit. the republicans / hillary supporters put these things together and then feign outrage at obama supporters for doing it.

stop responding to these idiots.
