The setting was all wrong for a "forceful" rebuttal and it didn't come across too well. It didn't help that he wasn't comfortable with the speech to the point he was glancing down and reading every couple of words.

I disagree. He seemed to lay the hammer down pretty good, if you ask me.
I can imagine how you'd think the setting would detract from the message over the course of the entire 15 min talk, but given how the media will be covering it (10-25 second excerpts), he'll look just fine--plenty forceful.

I'd just like to see Obama pissed off some time. He can't be joking and smiling while giving a "forceful" speech. I bet Michelle is the disciplinarian of the Obama household with the girls.
Imagine Obama sitting down with Russian, Iranian, or Chinese leaders - they'd take his lunch money if this is "forceful Obama".
