Lunatics Amongst the Protesters

Hilzoy provides a report at Kevin Drum's blog on some lunatics at the protest near the Marriot hotel in D. C. where the Rules and Bylaws Committee is meeting.

A note for those with a propensity to project onto entire groups the actions of one or a few, I am passing this on for your entertainment and in no way do I suggest, or believe, that the lunatics amongst the protesters represent the Clinton campaign, or are characteristic of Clinton supporters or of all the protesters.

Watching the greater part of the RBC proceedings, I think, other than a few rude folks in the audience, both Clinton and Obama supporters have conducted themselves admirably.

Alice Huffman, a ardent Clinton supporter, in fact, has just lectured the rowdies in the audience to "act like proper" men and women and to not interrupt and to accept the decision of the RBC.

Alice seemed pretty disappointed in those "Denver" chants.

I thought Alice displayed a lot of class.

Harold Ickes, a RBC member whose name I did not get just pointed out, lied, in his swan song, about the MI uncommitted being handed to Obama. MI democrats will allocate the the uncommitted vote amongst the candidates in accordance with DNC rules.

No, actually the motion spelled out a 69-59 delegate split (which works out to a 34.5-29.5 vote split). "Uncommitted" votes (and a few more) are basically going to Obama.
I noticed one cttee member stated that was not the case, but then the mover re-read the resolution.
I'm cool with that, by the way. Essentially, the cttee accepted Michigan's convoluted math, which factored in Obama write-in votes, exit polls, etc.

It's good to see that BevD, Gotalife, and "Present" managed to get a seat at the RBC meeting today.

LMAO - that would explain their silence today.

cross-post (am SO pissed - but not entirely clear where to post amongst the existing threads):

To my surprise (and no small amount of shame), this political junkie found self veritably glued to the tube throughout the day in order to catch the sausage-making spectacle. Quite reminiscent of The Chad War - and, long before that - the Watergate Hearings.

Must say, however, I was totally repulsed by the behaviour of the Hillary supporters towards the end. Really... do they have any idea just how repugnant their puerile outburst came across to Middle America? I commend the members of the Committee for laboring on with their agenda despite the childish rantings of the 'elect-an-ovarian-candidate'-bots voicing their displeasure with Reality, as heard in the background.

I began this campaign wholly supportive of HRC; I'm ending it entirely disgusted with her. More-so, however, I have slowly grown to truly despise those politicos with which she has surrounded herself - and, to a lesser extent, her uber-sexist, vapid & vituperative supporters. Sad state of affairs that, after all we've been through these past 7+ years, these die-hards refuse to admit defeat & fall in line according to the traditional norms of every other campaign.
