Looking for Diamonds Under the Landslide
Sometimes when a post drops off the "recommended list", it's a long overdue mercy. Less frequently, it feels premature. And all too often, insightful posts never make the rec list.
Since we seem to be in a bit of a slump, I thought it would be interesting to gather up some of the post I've seen around here that got buried under a morass of ElectionMania (tm).
Please include your own picks for overlooked discussions.... And if this gathers enough interesting posts, please click "recommend."

what a good idea!
(I just recently discovered your reply to me on Genghis' 'Nietzsche' splash, but didn't add a lot in my response.)

Thanks, WRE! (I only just added that response recently, and I was planning to flag it for you next time I saw you in a thread, so I'm glad you found it!) Andrew Golis mentioned a while ago that one of the next features TPM is considering for us readers is a "my discussions" thing that would allow us to track the various conversations. That feature would have been extremely useful for the Nietzsche thread, since its shelf-life was so much longer than the recommended list expiration date.

yes, that 'my discussions' should really be helpful; but, you know, I hope, that we at least have our 'Your Profile' page with something like that only still lame and diminished. (at the top center-right of (is it on every page?) the 'Hi ______' (reader's user name for our own pages), but which is accessible to all of us as well. That's how I found your last one to me. (Of course, for me to find your profile, I had only to click on one of your thread message 'signature' links.) This is somewhat helpful for tracking, but can use all kinds of improvements and tweaks which everyone is anxiously anticipating!

All of yours are like 2 weeks old at least, but this one is fairly recent. Still, it fell off the list and should be read..

What the-- How'd this pop up on the rec list all the sudden? Note to self: 8pm must be a common posting time.

Actually, you want to post late, so it hangs on the board for a greater number of hours.
The Monica reference drew me in, of course.
This is like the most respectful thing anyone has posted on this site in a long time. Good for you.

Thanks, Chica! And I don't post "late", I just post on California-time... It was just strange that this post, which dropped off the recent list sometime this morning, suddenly showed up again tonight. Only explanation I could think of is caboodles of recommended posts expiring around 8pm (11pm).
