Know When to Fold'em
Fighting for the sake of fighting is senseless. That is what Hillary is doing at present.
Facing impossible odds, one would hope that a person who wanted to be president would possess the common sense to bow out. The fact that Hillary is continuing her campaign says she isn't willing to accept reality. This feels way too much like Bush and makes me want to run as fast as I can in whatever direction takes me away from possibly having her in the WH.
The obvious comparison is of Obama voting against the Iraq war when the facts didn't support it. It may have been unpopular to do so but a president has to make decisions based on facts, not on emotion. In most cases irrational decisions are those where we let our emotions or other factors cloud our judgement. The American people need somebody with a level head running things. Blind nationalism, greed and Bush neeeding to settle the score with SH has produced what we have today. If we want the same tomorrow then Hillary will do fine. But if we want to have a chance to find our way out of the mess we have then we need to rely on our heads by objectively examining what is good for the country and leave our emotions and the politics of greed at the door.

Sen. Obama didn't vote against the war. He wasn't even in the Senate at the time. He did speak out against it though.

Haven't you heard yet? Obama never voted against the war. He gave a speech to an anti-war crowd before he was even in the Senate. It was a very safe speech for him to make. No responsibility came with it. Later, once he was in the Senate, he voted exactly the same as Hillary every single time except once. And that vote had nothing to do with the war. So he voted the same as Hillary every single time on the war. Get it? So if that is why you voted for Obama, you can change your vote now. I agree with you. People need to rely on their heads. If they had, we wouldn't be facing defeat in November.

Otto,
Just curious: assuming it's Obama vs McCain, what are you planning on doing in Nov?
a) vote Party (e.g. Obama)
b) send a message (e.g. write in Hillary)
c) vote other Party (e.g. McCain)
d) sit it out
e) vote 3rd party
f) write in someone besides Hillary
I think these are the only options.

I don't think so. Classical grief analysis is that she is the "bargaining" stage at present.
The Clintons know that 2008 is their only chance to get back to the White House now, not 2012, note 2016. They are going to throw everything at this issue, because once they admit it's over, it's over for good and for ever.

I'm an Obama supporter and I'm eager for the end too, but I disagree on this. Clinton has made a commitment to her supporters to run through the last primaries, and I think she should stick to that. It doesn't help the party or Obama for her people to be able to say that superdelegates or party elders or the media forced her out before the race was decided. Let her finish. He'll be solidly ahead in pledged delegates, enough that he won't need a majority of supers to win. Then she'll be able to end it with a call for party unity that most of her supporters will heed.
