It's the womens' vote that means HRC must be the Veept
Sadly, I accept that Obama won't do well against working class whites and that's the reason he needs Hillary on his ticket.
But only indirectly.
Not because she will make that much difference with that particular sector. Until I see polls that convince me otherwise my belief is that HRC's advantage with that group is only in a head to head contest between her and Obama. In a match up against McCain I'd expect her to do poorly with them . And as Obama's VP she'd do little to boost the ticket with them..
What her place on the ticket would do is to prevent a damaging swing to McCain of Hillary's disaffected women supporters.Given his poor chances with those working class whites, Obama just can't afford to also lose those Hillaryites.

If you're not part of the base, perhaps you can't read the signs either - a language smurfs don't understand.

How about all the NON-Appalacian blue-collar whites that are pro-Obama? See Iowa, Wisconsin, Virginia, Oregon? How about all those in the republican base people that will sit this genreal election out rather than vote for McCain ----- UNLESS the republican anti-christ (Any Clinton) runs?
How about that?

A problem with this is that Obama has been gaining more and more of the woman's vote as time goes on and more women get to know him. I'm a woman and an Obama supporter. A majority of the Obama supporters at our county conventions, in Texas, were women.
Also, Obama could put someone like Gov. Kathleen Sebelius on his ticket and get the boost of having a female running mate without all the distrust issues that might come with having Clinton.
