You also had WOlfson and McAuliffe on the Morning talk shows essentially blaming Obama for this fiasco - I love it. It's his fault for not quashing this with his first comment to the media, like he was sitting by watching Hillary's interview with bated breath.
Not only did Hillary not accept Obama at his word when he said his "bitter/clinging" comments were ill chosen words but certainly not what he meant, she ran on them for over a month, and made it the focal point in Pennsylvania.
So now Barack has to defend Hillary for all of her misspeakings and accept her at her word, but Obama makes a poor choice of words and Hillary can gleefully paint him as an elitist and run on those words to her hearts content?
And don't forget she actually had STICKERS printed up and handed them out for weeks--used some schmuck's donation, say that 11-year old kid's, to have the stickers made, that said "I'm not bitter". Maybe Obama should have some made that say, "Please don't kill me".
Had hypocrisy not been the foundation of their campaign, I think Hillary would have done better.
Regarding MI and FL, I think the Clintons believe they have veto power.
I usually don't go onto threads that present only a link, but I was curious. For those who did'nt go there, this is a sample:
...Almost immediately, some took my comments entirely out of context and interpreted them to mean something completely different - and completely unthinkable.
I want to set the record straight: I was making the simple point that given our history, the length of this year's primary contest is nothing unusual. Both the executive editor of the newspaper where I made the remarks, and Sen. Kennedy's son, Bobby Kennedy Jr., put out statements confirming that this was the clear meaning of my remarks. Bobby stated, "I understand how highly charged the atmosphere is, but I think it is a mistake for people to take offense."
I realize that any reference to that traumatic moment for our nation can be deeply painful - particularly for members of the Kennedy family, who have been in my heart and prayers over this past week. And I expressed regret right away for any pain I caused.
But I was deeply dismayed and disturbed that my comment would be construed in a way that flies in the face of everything I stand for - and everything I am fighting for in this election.
And today, I would like to more fully answer the question I was asked: Why do I continue to run, even in the face of calls from pundits and politicians for me to leave this race?
I am running because I still believe I can win on the merits. Because, with our economy in crisis, our nation at war, the stakes have never been higher - and the need for real leadership has never been greater - and I believe I can provide that leadership...
One of the many things that is appalling to me about her statements, is that she acknowledges the way that some people took her words (of course it was all their fault that they took them wrong -- even Bobby says so!), but she doesn't apologize to Barack Obama, who is the person threatened by those words in the way that many many many people took them.
OK, she says they were totally misinterpreted. Then if she thinks she should apologize (although with her fingers crossed behind her back) to the Kennedys, then why not the Obamas? She may think it would make her look weak, but in fact she just comes off looking selfish and oblivious.
The whole rest of the piece was all about Hillary, how she was raised to be a fighter, and how she is so much better than Obama. ME!ME!ME! ME!ME!ME!ME!ME!ME!ME!
She is disgraceful!
Every time I try to move on from her madness, she says something to like this:
...Almost immediately, some took my comments entirely out of context and interpreted them to mean something completely different - and completely unthinkable.
Take her comments entirely out of context?!! Sorry, not buying it.
I still don't believe she means someone should/could kill Obama, but I do think she means she's waiting for some bad thing to happen to him.
