Experience is BS
I keep hearing, either from people I speak with or on various news outlets, comments that raise doubt about the experience factor on the part of Obama. I happen to think this is BS because we have 435 supposed experienced people in the congress and they screw up most everything they touch. The same applies to the Bush WH. I just don't see the experience argument having much validity. Experience is valueless if your're a dumb ass or don't learn from your mistakes or the mistakes of others.

As someone pointed out a month ago, if Clinton's argument was that the experienced candidate is the best one, then any Democrat remaining will lose to John McCain. It was a bad road to go down--it's what led to silly intonations like "the CinC threshold"--and one that she should be ashamed of going down.
To address this more positively, it's worth noting that the job of President of the United States is such a daunting one that I don't think anyone is "ready on day one," at least not in any meaningful way. Experience is generally worth a lot, but only if one can demonstrate that his or her experience helped one develop superior judgment. The "judgment threshold" is one that McCain clearly hasn't passed, and judging from her record on Iraq and the management of her campaign, Clinton hasn't made it far past that threshold, either.

Hillary didn't seem to want to know the experience of dozens of economists when they came out against the gas tax holiday.

My problem with experience....is it means you have to repay someone with a job (whether they are qualified or not) repay an industry with favors, give more handouts, do things the same stupid way because that's the way it's always been. The excitement of lack of experience in BO is he is organized, seems to be able to raise money and surround himself with smarter, less smug advisors than the other two combined. I think experience in this case is over-rated. Just think of all the favors the Clintons or McCain owe!

Thank you for this article! Obama has a broad range of the RIGHT experience, not just years of the WRONG experience....
