"Elaine" Slams WVWV, Endorses Obama
Julia Louis-Dreyfus posted a statement on Huff Post outlining her concerns about the latest WVWV robocall scandal:
Recently I was part of a group of women who filmed public service announcements for an organization called Women's Voices. Women Vote. The goal of the PSA campaign is to encourage high voter turn-out amongst women, especially single women, 20 million of whom have been known to stay home on Election Day. It is an issue about which I am deeply passionate. However, there have been reports about WVWV which questioned the intention behind my PSA and which candidate I am endorsing for president. For the record, I am proudly supporting Senator Barack Obama.

I did wonder about your recent PSA(s) and your alignment with WVWV and...was very disappointed in the association. My research reveals that the WVWV is merely a political cover front organization for undercover and duplicitous voter suppression work.
All fish rots from the head down.
This was NOT just a misstep or bad judgment by "some" misguided members...this was voter suppression. Voter suppression from the highest levels...an intentional felonious and deliberate action in North Carolina.
One mistake is merely an incident or event, but multiple occurrences in 24 primary(s) is a habit that is clearly ingrained. Seven (7) separate investigations are now underway in at least four (4) states.

Yes you can be a woman and support Obama, and I really am so sorry that this has happened. I just can't believe how far some people are willing to go to get Hillary elected.

Almost? The voter challenges, lawyers and dispute stuff at the Texas Caucus/Primary were scary to me since it was coming from a Dem. We have dems disenfranchising their own voters. WTF is going on here where that isn't front page news? It doesnt inspire any confidence in me that this thing isn't a huge charade.

What is also scary was that whole video clip thing yesterday. So were not even allowed to discuss it now? I went back to look at the responses to some of my comments yesterday AND THEY'RE ALL GONE.
The entire thread has been scrubbed, and when I go to my profile, none of the two dozens comments I made are there anymore. WTF? If we can't discuss the authenticity of the video clip here, what's the point of having reader comments?
The Clintonites are screaming bloody murder, threatening libel lawsuits, calling the clip a hoax and a fabrication, yet there still isn't a single shred of evidence pointing out that anything was fabricated. It's the same damn clip that is in the DVD.
Al Sharpton was once asked, after he pointed out that a politician was lying, "But why would they lie?" Sharpton's response, "Because they are liars, and LIARS LIE."
I remind myself of this every time I hear a Clinton or ONE OF their surrogates speak or write or put forth some slander to the press. They're lying, because they're liars, and LIARS LIE.

Yep. I didn't get into those threads simply because it should have stopped at the "Hoosiers are shit" reference. I remember that movie and I would have remembered the second part if actually happened.
Still.
We have morons who are convinced that Obama was giving Clinton the bird, hell, one of those twits has a still as their avatar, yet none of those wild conspiracy threads have been deleted. That twit is still allowed to use that avatar.

Since we couldn't discuss it here without all of the trolls howling and trying to shout us down, I posted a diary at Daily Kos and attempted to approach it from an objjective as possible standpoint.

My diary ended up on the "Recommended List" at Kos for several hours yesterday, and it received about 285 very interesting comments.
The main point that no one has picked up on, is that we didn't have DVDs, YouTube and laptops back then. Now that you can isolate the clip, and turn up the volume, you can hear the whispered remark that was inaudible to the people who saw the original film.
Pennebaker is currently working on a follow-up to "The War Room", is friends with all of them, and I have yet to see a single shred of evidence being put up that shows any kind of doctoring, fabrication, or anything that suggests a hoax.
The only thing I'm seeing is the Clintons' screaming for everyone to stop looking at it, and to stop talking about it.
I have 0% trust in these people. They have worked very hard to lose that trust from amny of us.

To be accurate, she doesn't really "slam" WVWV.
She notes the evidence that some people "affiliated" with the group may have issued misleading robo-calls, adding, "I find these activities appalling and hope WVWV will immediately disassociate themselves from such individuals and denounce such actions."
Which, I'll readily admit, the group has yet to do.

This WVWV stinks to high heaven.
The only place I've heard it covered besides blogs is on NPR. They are trying to steal this thing & our only recourse seems to be to work like hell to GOTV in numbers so huge that they have no chance. It's been happening so far but w/ the 24/7 all Wright all the time coverage they're definitely stacking the deck against US.

Today in NC, the NAACP filed suit with the Attorney General. Hopefully this will get some news coverage in NC tomorrow and Monday and right some wrongs in time for the primary on Tuesday.
