From what I understand, the opposition against it is that it subsidizes crops at a time when prices are already high, and that the proposals are too expensive. Those that are for it say it's going to make great strides in working to stop hunger in the nation, and that is helps support advancements for farmers growing specialty crops.
As far as the meat of the bill, I don't know much. Increases food stamps and subsidies.
